“It does what it says on the tin!!!”

We've just returned from this hotel and we had a great time! We've stayed at many hotels, 4 and 5 star and I can't honestly think of a cleaner one! Dust is simply never allowed to settle! Our room was lovely - via Thomsons it was a twin with a garden view which turned out to have a fab sea view too! We had the sun in the afternoon and evening on our balcony and watching the sun go down every evening was a real treat!

Food: Well it wasn't lobster and fillet steak but you'd find it hard to find something you didn't enjoy every day. Slight niggle - not everything was labelled so it we had to ask if we weren't sure about anything. Staff are proud of their dishes though and will happily talk you through them!!

Staff: Lovely - all very helpful

Drinks: Great - bar staff smashing and never had to wait for a drink.

Pool: Well we never had any problem finding a sunbed so I'm not sure what that's all about?? We didn't get down to the pool 'till about 10.30 and there were plently free. You could change your pool towels each day up till about 12.00.

Beds: I was worried as I'd read they weren't comfy and I suffer with my back and hips. Well, I know these things are individual but I was very pleasantly surprised at how well I slept - I was really comfy!!

Nice touches: Fridge in the room and as much water as you needed for the room.
No-one minded if you took drinks up to the room to sit and drink on the balcony.
Lovely free and easy attitude.

Location: Fab - a short walk to the dunes, shops, bars etc. and to the bus station.

Entertainment: Well what can I say?? You have to go with a positive attitude really. There was a 'duo' called 'Flash' playing keyboard and guitar for a bit each night - dance tunes which seemed to go down well with the fleet footed brigade. They could play and sing but were so lacking in any kind of personality that it was hilarious. They just didn't seem to want to be there and one guy keeps looking at his watch - we thought it was hilarious!! There was a fabulous Chinese circus act one night and the rest of the time it was the lovely, energetic, talented young 'animation team'. We really loved the 'Rat Pack' show and the other nights were very entertaining too! Can't believe how hard they all work during the day and then put the shows on at night. Overall it was pleasant and easy going but it isn't far to other venues if you want a bit more and if 'Flash' (ho ho ho) aren't dynamic enough for you!!

Overall - We had a lovely relaxed holiday - incredibly good value in a great spot. I would heartily recommend!!

Room Tip: Think all the garden view rooms have sea views too. We were in 2083 and it was lovely!!

Have just returned from this Hotel which I found to be clean but tired and also very cold. They certainly did not cater for cool evenings as I have never seen so many people in a bar wearing wearing coats jumpers and scarfs. The food was fair and the staff very nice. The entertainment provided by the animation team was poor although they thoroughly enjoyed themselves, the professional entertainment was fair. This is suppost to be a Thomson Platinum Hotel and must say that it is the worst one we have ever been to and is certainly NOT Value for money

Good location. All inclusive service on average level. May be a good choice as a base for island excursions or stay with a childrens.

“good but very dated”

just returned from twelve days at this hotel had an ok time . the good bits- staff were good everywhere and the bar service was good with a decent selection, when you had professional entertainers they were good, the pool area was fine although you had to get up very early to get a good spot (7am) the twin rooms are a decent size and its in a good location ie one minute to the rocky beach, five minutes to the shops in maspalomas and a three mile/forty five minute walk to playa del ingles. the average bits- the hotel was very dated seventies built im guessing and it was starting to show in places especially in the concert room which reminded me of a 'talk of the north'/'bately variety club' venue the animation team were very energetic but they are only a bunch of kids with limited resources most nights it was a mime act. the bad bits- it was about ninety percent german occupancy with alot of ignorant older folks and the hotel catered for them especially, the food was very very repetative though of a fair standard the evenings wre the worst if you didnt want to watch a loud mime show there was nowhere to go, if your young dont consider this hotel, the gym was a token affair with one piece of weight equipment with missing parts and a few cardio machines. would we go again? no, its not up to the standards you expect from a riu, and how thomson had this place as a platinum hotel ill never know?

Room Tip: insist on a twin room

“Great Location and Service”

Having stayed at this hotel some 4 times between 2005 and 2011, I am more than satisfied with the consistency of excellent service. The food quality and selection is very good and would challenge anyone who found otherwise.

All in inclusive is exactly what it purports to be even down to complimentary supply of bottles water each day.

Rooms are not a large as some other hotels but more than adequate and very clean.

Location in Meloneras is excellent with a convenient rear entrance leading on to the promenade that takes you down to the shops and restaurants at El Faro.

Entertainment is a good mix of the in-house entertainments team and that of external acts all of which are worth considering.

A few years since we used the kids club but all kids certainly seemed fully entertained.

I would have no hesitation in going back year after year for both the hotel and Meloneras as a location,

Room Tip: If you are going to spend a lot of time in your room and on the balcony then go for a pool view but...
