We arrived back on the 23rd January ' 12., having spent 14 nights at this excellent Hotel. It is situated right on the beach at Maspalomas with miles of sandy beach and dunes just a hundred yards to the right.....and it is all flat ground !!. The sight and sound of the Atlantic breakers was fabulous especially from the Hotel Terrace both day and night. We had room 1233 which being on the east side got the Sun from first thing in the morning till about 5,00pm when the Sun starts to go down in January.
We could not fault this Hotel in anyway. Our Room was spacious with a large Double Bed - albeit 2 singles pushed together, it was so big I never saw the wife for 2 weks !!. It also had both a large Bathroom and Balcony which was all spotlessly cleaned everyday.
Reception Staff in fact everyone at the Hotel were kind and friendly, and the Food was some of the best we had ever tasted. Whil'st we have seen more choice at other places, what you get here is of very high quality.
Yes, the clientele was made up mostly of Germans ( where is it not nowadays ! ), but we got on O.K. with them.
We had transferred from another Hotel in Meloronas, which was too far out for us, and in moving to the Hotel Faro, we had to forego A/I for Half-Board, but we didn't regret it.
We thought the Entertainment was good, with a resident Duo playing ( everynight ) supported by Tribute acts - Tina Turner, Elvis, Micheal Buble, the 4 Tenors, plus Chinese Acrobats (clever) and a new twist on Brazilian Flemenco with a 3 piece "classical" backing group.
The transfer time was about an hour, but only 35 minutes on return.
This is a lovely Hotel in a lovely location, and if you do go there please try the Custard Doughnuts they put out at Breakfast.....their sublime
