We have stayed in Dunas Mirrador, Maspalomas in 2010, March.
The hotel was an absolute disappointment. One of us got a serious case of food poisoning form the hotel's restaurant. Te staff was ignorant an unfriendly from the start. Than when we needed urgent help they basically pointed my partner where the pharmacy is and did not care at all that we almost had to call out an ambulance as I was in a very bad state with high temperature.
We had similar stories of my sickness from other guest staying in the hotel, so we soon learn this is an every day thing and the hotel does not show any sign of sympathy or would carry out some sort of investigation to avoid guests getting seriously ill. Given we only took a short break, two days illness ruined our holiday totally.
Other than that, the hotel is noisy, you can hear everything in the rooms, from the corridor which echos as well as from outside of the street. We have been kept up a few night by noisy party people.
The hot water runs out every morning and dinner time and the water pressure is a disaster. There is not fridge, hairdryer in the rooms, which was expected from a 4star hotel...& the bed linen is so used and old it did not give a feel of comfort at all.
The pool was not heated, even so ti was advertised to be heated (given the time of the year, this we specifically checked prior booking) and the last negative is the location: it is pretty far from the beach and city center, you need a taxi or a bus every time you wanna go somewhere.
I would never recommend this hotel to anyone and will not return. Klara

thank you for taking the time to comment your stay from March 2010.
At first I have to say, that we are not a four star hotel, but a three star hotel.
I really feel sorry, that one of you got ill in the hotel. I can assure you, that our staff always is worried, if a client is sick and they will do everything to improve their condition.
If you are unhappy with your room, don't hesitate to call the reception. They will change your room withour any problems, provided there is one room left.
We hope, that you give us nearly 2 years later the chance to convince you from our services. That's why we look forward to welcome you again.
