“Excellent service, excellent holiday”

Excellent service, excellent holiday!

We went in December, great value, great place, cannot complain at all.
They were really helpful, & nice from the first day till the last one.
They clean bungalows every day.
We were 1 couple & 2 friends, so got 2 bungalows, both with a kitchen, but never actually bothered using it. We always walked to the beach, is 30 min walk, but there is a bus every hour if you want. There were all sorts of people, all ages, nice quiet place.
They had a massage therapist by the swimming pool, so we all gave us a treat, she was good.

Food in the area, we ask the locals for advice because we wanted real Spanish food. But if you want something touristic, there is plenty.

We enjoyed visiting other beaches, went to the caves for dinner…visited Puerto de Mogan, very nice. My regret is not having rented a car from the start. It would have been even better.

The weather was 22-29 ºC, Sunny sometimes, cloudy sometimes.
Very windy at maspalomas beach. But then you keep walking towards las meloneras & the wind is gone.

Room Tip: Probably beside the swimming pool is much noisier in the morning specially But we were further away...

“mixed feelings”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

located between ingles and maspolomas ,everywhere is a good walk away. apartments clean , staff all pleasant and efficient., facilities and pool fine. little close by so you can get tied to place at night if you are lazy .went half board and regretted it. restaurant food not warm, little choice and things kept running out and not being replaced. would go back but only self catering. No air con and we were cold in apartment each evening-it was jan after all, had to leave hob in kitchen area running to keep warm

Room Tip: pool view gets better view and more sun. go self catering

“Great spot for and nice accomodation away from Playa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

We booked this accomodation on the advice of two of the party as they said they had stayed here previously and was good. Not to be confused with Club Vistaflor which is a 2 minute walk up the road.

Glad we stayed here as the bungalows are actually duplexes, sitting room and kitchen downstair, bathroom and bedroom upstairs. There's a patio downstairs and a small balcony upstairs. The accomodation was really nice, they were cleaned most 6 out of the 7 days we were there and towels changed at same times.

Staff were really friendly and pool was nice. There's also a restaurant and a bar with entertainment on every night for those who fancy sitting in. The bungalows are a short taxi ride to the Yumbo Centre (€2), Playa del Ingles (€4) and Maspalomas (€3). There is also the Faro 2 shopping centre which is only a ten minute walk and does nice full Irish breakfasts for €3.

All in all I was very happy to be staying here, we went in November / December, was quiet enough but the madness of nights out were close but far enough not to be intrusive. We stayed in Bungalow 674 which got the sun on the patio and balcony all day long which was good when we didn't feel like going to the beach or pool.

I would recommend this place to anyone looking for decent enough accomodation away from the tack hole that is Playa Del Ingles!

Room Tip: As I said, room 674 got the sun all day so any bungalow on this side would be perfect.

“Management demanded payment again from British customers on arrival!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

If you are British I would advise you not too book with this hotel.

On arrival late Fridat night the hotel representative on the front desk handed us a letter and kept saying, 'read this only when you get to your room'. We were tired but had a quick look there and then and realised it was a demand to pay for the hotel accomodation again.

When we said 'but we paid 6 weeks ago' the hotel representatitive said 'yes, but I have not been paid so you must pay now'. Apparently the interim booking agent 'youhotels.com / Youtravel' had been taking several months to pay the hotel.

Asking around it seemed most of the British holidaymakers had been handed the same letter. Some had booked through Co-Op, others through Travel Republic (like us). We called Travel Repubic several times over the weekend and they chased Youhotels.com without sucess until late Monday when Travel Republic called us to let us know the problem had been resolved.

Whilst I can understand Vista Flor's problems I believe they should have stopped accepting bookings until their problem was resolved with YouHotels.com. Instead they decided to apply presssure by demanding payment as us holiday makers were checking in and suggesting that we 'contact the local holiday rep' to resolve the issue or pay up. We did not pay but one group we spoke too paid over €1000 on several credit cards!

At no time did the hotel let us know that the matter was resolved or offer any kind of apology.

Travel Republic were very good and kept us updated throughout the weekend. Full marks to them but a bad start to our holiday wondering if we were going to get chucked out at any moment.

The accomodation was fine for the money we paid. We went self catering and a kettle, toaster and coffee maker was provided. Cutlery, pans, plates, cups, glasses etc were just sufficient for two. The blankets provided were clean but we would have had to ask for extra had we not taken cheap quilts from Tesco as the nights were a bit chilly (6-18 January).

Our bungalow had the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The hard stone steps would do a lot of damage should you fall. Not good for small children in my opinion.

TV was a medium sized flat screen bolted to the wall. 50+ Channels but all German or Spanish. Only two financial channels (CNBC Europe & Bloomberg Europe) and BBC World News were in English.

Pool was clean as was the complex in general.

There was an expensive on-site shop obviously aimed at German / Scandanavian tastes. A slightly less expensive shop was located next door attached to the Dunaflor complex. Also tired looking Italian resturant and a shop selling roast chickens at €5.50 + €1.70 for chips (recommended).

On site entertainment was very poor. The Slovakian lady folk singers playing wash board, accordian and inflated rubber glove took the biscuit for me! The Snake man with 3 snakes came a close second!

Not a lot to do locally but a 3-4 euro taxi ride takes you to Yumbo centre, Kasbah centre or Maspalomas beach. All have shop's, cafe's / resturants and are worth a visit.

Our favourite night spot was Little Brasil at the Kasbah Centre. Live Cuban music Mon - Saturday, €2.50 for a large glass of wine, good atmosphere. Food looked good too but a bit expensive for us.

Sad to have to run the gauntlet of the agressive touts at the entance to the Kasbah centre offering 2 for 1 special deals. We foolishly followed one into 'Rogers Bar' ordered 2 drinks (with 2 free!) and were delivered 4 cheap beers and charged 12 euros! The touts also offered to get us drugs or take us to prostitutes or strippers (we are a 50 ish man and wife!). One also made crude comments about paying me to sleep with my wife! We went to Gran Canaria in 1998 and the touts weren't there then. Such a shame!

Bus stop outside Dunaflor, 90 (2.75 euros) takes you to CC Atlantico shopping Mall (100 shops + large Carrefour). Definately worth a walk into the town (Vecindaro) behind the CC Atlantico Mall for lots more shops with better prices, cafe's and even a tiny M&S!. 90 bus only runs hourly and was packed on the 4 occasions we used it.

Room Tip: Rooms next to the pool but opposite from the restaurant had no sun all day (6-18 January)

“Christmas Break”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Stayed in Vistaflor with friends. Had bungalow near pool and bar area.
Very noisy from early morning to late night.
2nd or 3rd row back from pool would have been quieter.
Nice place otherwise.
Little far from centre of Maspalomas, beach etc.

Room Tip: Stay in 2nd or 3rd row back from centre. Front row noisy.
