“Relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Good value for money. The apartment was "tired" in places.
Pool heating was one of the reasons why we booked the complex - it certainly wasn't heated.
The location was wonderful.
It was a shame the grass in front of the apartment was so worn.
There was only one sun chair - we had to brinbg a chez longue down from upstairs.
But the people who greeted us made us feel evry much at home and nothing was too much trouble.
The above point are only a few little issues - without them we would give 5 stars.

“Great Holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

We stayed at Bahia in January of this year, on arrival the villal was not what we had expected as we have 2 your children and there were a lot of steps into the villa .... a nightmare for any parent. We called The lady who was managing the villla and she was fantastic, she arranged for us to be moved the next day to a villa with a garden and no steps into it, she also arranged for all of our belongis to be brought down, she even bought lovely gifts for the children as a token, which was a lovely gesture.
The property is fantastic and has a lot to offer, the pool area was amazing, even if the water is a little cold in January, but the play ground for the kids was great. Its a 5 min walk to the beach and great places to eat and drink. We would highly recomment this as a destination for familys.. just let them know about the steps in advance

“Fantastic apartments but dont listen if you're told pool heated in winter!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

Apartments are perfect, everything you need in them, 5 minute walk across road to nearest supermarket, restaurants & small beach, 10 minutes to all others & larger beach other side of lighthouse. BUT I read on a few sites as advertised by some owners & was told by someone on the main Bahia Meloneras website that the pool was heated in winter, December 20th til mid January some time, this is not the case & as I was told when I realised that it was absolutely freezing that it NEVER will be, it was heated one winter before & caused problems so will never be heated again. I could of got a 2 bed apartment with an unheated pool far cheaper than what I paid for the week here, the heated pool was important to me as I have small children, a baby included & thats why I paid alot, so was really disappointed that they couldnt go in it, my oldest waited til around 4pm in evenings to go in as it was very slightly warmer from the sun all day but was still cold being honest. Also dont waste money on lilo's or any childrens novelty water play things as they arent allowed in the pool & we were told the government has completely banned them from use in pools everywhere in Gran Canaria, swimming rings/arm bands are fine but thats it, also my 8 month old was playing with a very small light disney ball sitting beside the pool & we were told he wasnt allowed to as no balls are allowed at pool area,Id understand a group of lads or something throwing a ball at each other in the pool but a baby holding a ball in his hands is hardly going to land anyone in hospital!!! lol :-P

“Soooo relaxing”

Simple, clean and good value for money with everything you need already there. Very quiet when we went: sometimes we had the 35m pool was all to ourselves. Could be too close to neighbours if busy.

“Great holiday!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

We have just returned from 10 days at Bahia Meloneras. For our group of 6 the accommodation was a great size. We had everything we needed, beach towels were included, which was very handy. The pool was very quiet and a fantastic size and never an issue getting a sun bed.

The villa was split on 3 levels. The basement level lacked air-con, but Lisa kindly provided a fan which did help a bit. The villas are very close to each other so not for anyone wanting to have loud parties, but they were quiet so it didn't feel crowded. Not 5* luxury but everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The location was great, there is a small (basic) supermarket just up from the beach, less than 5 minutes away. We hoped in a taxi to Mercadona a large spanish supermarket for our big shop. The H10 hotel opposite is stunning, you can use the pool, although it wasn't as easy as we expected to use the gym facilities. The nearerst beach is stoney so hard to swim but the stroll towards the dunes is easy and littered with lovely shops and restaurants. Ciao Cioa a restaurant on the nearest beach was superb. This is a really smart area with lovely 5* resorts on the door steps.

We had a really great stay and I would recommend anyone considering this accommodation to approach LIsa Dickinson through rooms Gran Canaria as she couldn't be more helpful.
