Spent 2 weeks in this beautiful hotel. Had a great time but was a little dissapointed with a few things. The bedroom was smaller than I had expected and for such a fab hotel for our room to look out on cobblestones on a rooftop was a shame.The spa which was a huge attraction and how the hotel is marketed had a charge to enter and use the outdoor pool/sauna...it was 45euro this meant i only used it once it was beautiful and an hour or two was plenty of time to use all rooms,treatments in the spa were also expensive...85euro for a massage in my opinion madness!!!also gym 7 euro a day. The pools outside were great large and the settings fantastic...it was a shame that people competed for the sunbeds so much.this was due to palm trees blocking sun all over...I went in January and if this was the summer id hate to think what it would be like. Breakfast was buffet style and catered for all,all free but if you wanted orange juice it was 2euro a glass.Food outside the hotel was good and good value most places, grand italia/bali and the steak place in the shopping centre being my favourite...avoid the hotel resturant as its disapointing.Staff were friendly and the cleaning staff fantastic. Would stay here again or try something different as for the price we paid we could get better.

This was our 2nd stay here and it was as good as we remember. It's a huge place but well run with great staff. The highlight for us are the gardens and sunbathing areas which are impressive and immaculately maintained. Despite the size we could get away from it all and find quiet relaxation.
Breakfast is a buffet (we were on B&B only) and it's the only time you get a feel for the number of people staying. Huge choice and delicious food.
You can eat other meals in a choice of restaurants at the hotel or venture out and enjoy what's on offer. All were good, so go and support local businesses.
Service in the bars and lounges was fast and efficient as you'd expect in a hotel that seems to be popular with German & Scandinavian clients.
The only slight downside was the room could be a bit chilly, but there was a very unusually cool breeze for a few days. Sadly the hotel can't control the weather, I wish they could as they seem to have everything else well managed.

We stayed here for three days in January, and it is definitely a very good hotel, but there are also a few things that could be better. The service everywhere, however, was superb. The staff was efficient, friendly and helpful all the time. Since this is a 4 star superior hotel we also expected things to be like this. The location is great just a few meters from the sea and very close to the Faro and the Dunas de Maspalomas. The big pool in front of the hotel is absolutely stunning as it seems to continue straight into the ocean. The big tropical garden is also great, but because of all the tall trees, a lot of the sunbeds were in the shade, and the beds in the sun were of course always occupied. Our room was all right, but it didn’t seem very modern with its rather dark colours and an old fashioned TV. The room was also quite cold so we had to ask for an extra heater. The reception area was looking great, though. The food in the buffet restaurant was OK, but it was rather crowded round the different tables where you fetched the food. Because of this we booked tables at two of the a la carte restaurants the other nights, and we had two absolutely superb meals at the Via Veneto and the Ambassador restaurants. Professional and friendly service as well. Being a hotel of this standard we think it should be unnecessary to pay extra for the safe in the room, the WIFI and the parking. There were pool towels in our room, but each time we wanted to change them it cost 1 Euro each. We did enjoy our stay, but couldn’t help feeling that the hotel was a bit like a holiday factory lacking a personal atmosphere.

It is almost impossible to try to find something positive to say about the hotel, that has not yet been said by so many visitors earlier, but the earlier reviews did match our experience too. Something that we need to still draw attention to is the service level (concerning all the staff)! It was indeed excellent.And the huge gardens - they trully are beautiful.

Like said, no real down sides, unless cashier’s poor knowledge of english language ( good german though) is considered one, but if it was for me to decide, I would most likely move Ambassador gourmet restaurant to the facilities of either Vistamar or Via Veneto. Why would I do such a thing? Ambassador lacks, what both mentioned restaurants have, i.e. wonderful views. Ambassador have very good food quality, but both mentioned restaurants menues can only be considered just ok.

Would we go again; yep, indeed and even without any changes at all. We had a wonderful time there! And the whole Meloneras area is so clean and "adult friendly".
