Myself and my boyfriend are just back from 9 nights in Hotel Dunas. We had one of the villas for the duration of our stay and we really loved it. We were right at the end of the resort, far away from the main pool and the restaurant/entertainment areas which suited us perfectly. We stayed on a B & B basis, the breakfasts were really great, lots of choice, everything we ate was fresh and tasty.

We lay by the back pool most days, lovely and quiet and no problems getting a lounger as we were up early enough, had lunch in our villa and then would walk to the beach area for dinner (10 mins, people saying more must be slow walkers!). We loved the location, it was just right for us, even with the crooning every night from the restaurant next door, it was always finished by 10.30pm. Speaking of that restaurant, AVOID, the staff were rude and the food well below average. The food at the pool bar in Hotel Dunas was nice enough, nothing too fancy but did the job for us on a couple of lazy days when we didn't feel like making our own lunch. I can't comment on the dinners as we went out every evening.

Our villa was very comfortable and clean, all the previous talk of cockroaches definitely didn't apply to us, we didn't see any apart from a very dead one on our last day, outside! We found the accommodation rates to be very reasonable for what we got. I found all the staff members, including reception staff, to be friendly, efficient and helpful. Special mention to the wait staff during breakfast and in the pool bar, they were all really lovely.

There is a bus-stop right outside the hotel, the local buses are regular and a very good service, we took a trip to Puerto Mogan, well worth a visit even though the clifftop roads were a little terrifying! We also went in to Playa Del Ingles for dinner one night, had a nice meal in Mamma Mia in the Yumbo Centre. Definitely worth a visit.

I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Hotel Dunas to friends and family and we will be back!

My boyfriend and myself have just returned from 1 week in Dunas Suites. Firstly the apartment was very spacious, 2 single beds in a very large bedroom, roomy bathroom and a nice lounge with fridge in it. We were half board, food was lovely and varied, could of been a little warmer but on the whole lovely. Staff throughout the complex were so friendly, couldnt do enough for you. The pool was clean and staff around the pool area were always checking it and cleaning it where necessary. A nice 15 minute walk to Maspolomas Beach, lovely sandy beach with beautiful dunes. Sea was very cold but it was january after all, weather was very nice 20 ish but did get windy on the beach but still came back with a nice tan. Market on weds and sat good bargains especially bartering. If i had to come up with any negative points about this holiday they would be very minor, ie. only sky news and cnn channels in english and no kettle in the room. Entertainment was going on although we didnt go to any of the shows, there was always something going on each nite and during the day around the pool. Rooms were cleaned exceptionally well and llinen changed regularly, also nice to have a little table and chairs outside the apartment, i strongly recommend this hotel especially after reading some bad reviews, cockroaches everywhere, didnt see one the whole holiday.

We first visited Dunas in January 2010 and had a great time. Nice accomodations with a suite and small patio. Quite a large facility but it doesn't feel as such. Very kid friendly...like it or not. They have a great staff, from front desk to dining to housekeeping. We were most impressed with the variety and quality of the all-inclusive. Buffet food can never be perfect but they got pretty close. Bravo! We spent 10 days and enjoyed ourselves completely. We decided to return again this past week and they hit it twice in a row! Bravo for job well done. The weather was a bit less cooperative but the Dunas was not. We are seriously considering this to become the annual winter holiday.

We went to Dunas suites for ten days from Jan 4 to Jan 14. Travelled with two children, 6 and 10 years. We had booked a suite with two bedrooms and one lounge, furniture a bit dated and the beds were quite hard also you could hear the neighbours through the walls, but everything was very clean and we had a terrace with afternoon sun, which was lovely. Also a small fridge, good for keeping water & soft drinks cold. We were on half board and both breakfast and dinner were varied and plentiful, we were impressed! The animation team was also amazing, lot of gusto and lovely with the kids, thank you Jenny and Marek! Every evening there was a minidisco from 8 - 8.30, after that some entertainment (e.g. snake/parrot show, games) from 8.45 to approx 9.15 and then a show which normally finished around 10.30. Mostly for the kids, they were running around & enjoying themselves. This is very much a familyoriented hotel, no cosy bar or private place for adults only, so if you are looking for a romantic stay, this is not the place to go! We did not like that wifi was not available in the hotel rooms, only at a cost in the lobby area and also found it a bit of a nuisance that smoking was allowed all around the main pool area where the sunbeds are really close. Also even the heated pools were a bit too cold for us, but they seemed to warm up as the days passed, so you get used to it. No sign of bugs or mosquitoes. Also, our son got ill with tonsillitis, but a doctor came to the hotel everyday 10.30 - 11.00, so that was quickly sorted out, very handy! We found the staff to be helpful and courteous and would recommend this hotel to families.
