Would I go to this hotel again = YES, most definitely.

Stay = Aug'11 (Bed & Breakfast, two weeks)

GOOD POINTS:-
* Staff are very friendly and courteous.
* A very quiet family/couples orientated hotel (bliss / relaxing)
* Very large grassed area around the pool, large enough to play bat-and-ball without affecting the other guests (sunbeds always available, fewer umbrellas)
* Good-sized pool for the size of the hotel (always enough space to swim).
* Two tennis courts (hire of equiipment available)
* Bar meals available most of the day (pizzas available when not), sensible prices
* Room/Hotel always clean (no flys etc etc)
* Bar drinks mostly cheaper than the town/beach
* two pool tables
* PC's/internet/WiFi available for hire
* Petanque available to hire
* parking available (12 euros per day)
* No evening entertainment (good point for us)
* Fresh/ground coffee during breakfast time
* can buy ice for 50c per bag (wine in room/balcony)
* blackout curtains in room
* lift to all floors

NOT SO GOOD POINTS:-
* Probably about 20min walk to/from the beach, which was fully packed at this time of year (however no steep decents or steps).
* rooms are basic and very/extremely small (but clean), our shower room also ridiculously small, good job we didn't book our holiday to stay in a hotel room all day (i.e. this isn't really an issue as you should only be sleeping and washing here!)
* Breakfast was same everyday (cold/european) = Bread rolls, hot & cold drinks machines, cheese, ham, croissants, pan chocolates / sweet breads, cold hard-boiled eggs, yoghurts, cereals (two weeks = too much of same)
* We were B&B, and only paid once for the eveining meal (10 euros/head), save your money and go into town, if you go to the Marina restuarant (not connected in anyway to the Hotel, it's near the castle/church, or try the one next door to the marina restaurant) you can get an extremely nice 3-course meal with wine for 10euros/head
* we paid and extra £100 (two weeks) for the balcony which looked onto the carpark, but with a child, it's somewhere to sit on a night with a bottle of wine when they're in bed.
* no fridge (to keep beer/wine cold)
* only two elec' sockets, one in the room, one in the bathrom
* no air-conditioning

COMMENTS (neither good nor bad):-
* this hotel caters for all europeans, i.e not a Brit' hotel
* slide for younger children (NOT pool slide !)

RESORT:-
* very nice, packed at this time of year
* beach/sea is slowly shelving, ideal for children etc, not sand so no sandcastles
* no gangs of lads or lasses getting drunk
* beautiful backdrop with castle lit up on a night time
* some nice cliff/wood walks
* (don't bother going fishing, they don't bite)
* 45min(ish) to Gerona airport
* try to avoid the cheaper restaurants, you get what you pay for. We bought Paella from one place at 8-euros (like something from the shop 'Iceland'), however a three-course meal with wine at the Marina restaurant near the church was only 10-euros.
* Bottled beer (330cl) in town normally about 2.5-3euros/bottle, however there is a 1-euro/bottle bar/hotel near the tourist information/ceramic shop

SUMMARY:-
The resort is very nice for couples/families, hotel is lovely and quiet, we would certainly go again !

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 6 nights at the start of September. As our flight got in at 09.30 we were at the hotel by 11am and were greeted by Thomas. Although check in is supposed to be from 3pm onwards we were given our key right away. Thomas was very helpful and even found us the times of the bus into Barcelona and wrote down in Catalan for us how to get 2 return tickets to Barca! Definitely good customer service.

Yes the room was basic with just two beds, a chair and a bedside table but it was spotlessly clean. We were also surprised to have a balcony as we had booked a room with no balcony. There was also an en suite shower room but this was absolutely tiny - also the shower was more like a hosepipe than a shower. However the rooms were cleaned and mopped every day and we had fresh towels every day.

We booked the hotel on a b&b basis and the breakfasts were great. Continental buffet, cereals and fruit. Do not believe the review about the waitress giving you dirty looks for taking fruit - this isn't the case at all. Also the review about there being no eggs - there were hard boiled eggs there every day!!

The hotel swimming pool was nice too and the surrounding areas clean and tidy. There was a bar at the pool selling pizza and snacks and a couple of pool tables. There is a petanque area outside and you can hire that for 2 euro and also two tennis courts - you can book lessons if you want or hire rackets from reception.

Marina Tossa is about a 10 minute walk from the centre of Tossa de Mar and in a quiet location. We eat in the town most nights - (most restaurants have fixed price menus) and we did eat in the hotel buffet one night. It was good food and at 10 euro for all you can eat pretty good value too. You can't take your drinks in with you but a bottle of San Miguel was only 2 euro.

While I would visit Tossa de Mar again, I would prefer to stay in one the all inclusive hotels closer to the town, That said, being on a budget, I would definitely recommend Marina Tossa - we paid £180 for 6 nights B&B.

Unfortunately I spent here two nights. After the first night i regretted my booking for the second one, but it was paid, so I had no other choice but to stay. The rooms are very small, the beds are really uncomfortable, the bathroom is so tight like a chamber, and the walls are made of paper, so you can hear everything that happens in the surrounding rooms. The staff is quite friendly, except that they won't allow you to sit next to the swimming pool if you buy nothing in the bar.....

The breakfast was quite good, wide variety of food, but due to the really uncomfortable rooms I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent location only a short walk to beach and shops. This was our fourth visit to Tossa which we love always rented a private apartment so this was our first time to a hotel in tossa. the room was very basic but very clean with fresh towels. breakfast was pleasant but food quality was poor, and the lady in restaurant was like a guard dare you take an apple from the dining area she would come and take off you i observed one evening her taking olive oli from a gentleman and giving out to him for brining to his table this was the same at dinner. Thomas at reception is excellent with no request to much so friendly and hugly talented speaks many languages, Excellent with all guests and especially young people and children, Thomas was just so good and friendly that on his day off reception was so unfrendly so much so after we staying 14 nights on check out an older man did not even make eye contact with us or ask did we have a nice stay made no conversation at all.pool area really lovely and so well kept.
