My partner and I stayed here for one week from 12th-19th September 2006, on a bed and breakfast basis. We had looked at many hotels in Tossa, and although we couldn't find a review of this hotel, we booked it anyway, based on pictures on the net of the hotel.
We were checked in quickly and the reception staff were very pleasant and courteous. We had a problem with the safe in our room which was rectified immediately.
The room was quite spacious with twin beds, a large bathroom, desk, wardrobe, drawers, TV, telephone, fridge, air conditioning and hairdryer. The balcony was pleasant with 2 chairs and a table. The beds were very comfortable, if you like them soft like me. We didn't watch TV all week as there were no English speaking channels on the TV but you don't go on holiday to watch TV do you?! The room was cleaned daily, normally before 10.30am.
The breakfast was full continental style, with a large selection of meat, cheese, bread, fruit, yoghurt, juices, tea, coffee, croissants and even doughnuts! You could order a hot breakfast on request, which included omelettes, sausages etc.
The hotel is decorated in a contemporary style, is extremely clean and well presented. The only let-down is that there isn't a pool, there is a jacuzzi on the roof, which carries a usage charge of 18 euros per hour. The roof terrace is very nice and we had it all to ourselves when we went up there. You can use the pool in the Park hotel which is just around the corner.
As for Tossa itself, it is a beautiful, quiet resort and i would highly reccomend it for couples in particular. The food at the restaurants is superb, mainly offering fish dishes, but there is a great variety. One dish I would recommend is a local speciality, 'Cim-I-Tomba', a fish casserole, which is delicious. The locals are very friendly and polite and we had good service at all the bars and restaurants.
I would highly recommend both the hotel and the resort.
