We have holidayed at the Golden Bahia every year for between 2-3 weeks for the last 7 years. The Staff in general are very helpful and friendly. The town itself is very relaxing and pleasant. The Bars and restraunts on the sea front can be expensive, however if you venture to the bar area around the large church and behind the Villa Vella you will find the prices in some cases 40% cheaper and very good.
If you wish to visit Barcelona, go to the bus staition the day before and pre-book your seats on the local service bus which is EXCELLENT!! cost return for 2 adults is about 40 euros and the bus station in Barcelona {Nord} is 5 mins to city centre on foot.
The Golden Bahia however has lost some of its edge, it is certainly not Platinum compared to other Platinum hotels in the Thomson range. If you are looking for a family hotel go....if you are 50+ and wanting a quite break forget it..it is like Butlins with sun during the day around the pool area

We visited at the end of December and found this to be an excellent hotel for older couples and older groups looking for a relaxed hotel at a very reasonable clost in a pretty location. Our room was clean and spacious, although the soundproofing is not great and we could hear the person in the room next door snoring through the night! The bar staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the entertainment seemed well received. The food was OK but not great. I understand that Tossa de Mar is very busy in the summer but at the end of December we found it very quiet. A lot of shops were closed but the restaurants by the beach were open. We were only there for a couple of days but there is a lot to visit if you hire a car.

We were invited by friends to join them at the Golden Bahia over Christmas. Sadly our friend broke her hip just before leaving and so we went solo. Our room was spotless, the food (quantity and quality) amazing, and the friendly staff could not have been better. Thank you. Tossa is a pretty village from which we took time to also visit Girona and Barcelona - both lovely cities. .

We enjoyed a great two week holiday at The Golden Bahia de Tossa last May [2011]. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and varied and the cleaners ensured the rooms were spotless every day. The hotel has good facilities including indoor and outdoor pools with patio areas and entertainment most evenings.

Thomson Holidays gave us a good deal and an upgrade to full board for a nominal additional payment, but we did not take advantage of their full package which included a flight and transport from Gerona airport as we found it was more economical to book our own flight to Barcelona Airport where we hired a rental car. This also meant we had the car for the two weeks to go as we pleased.

Tossa de Mar is one of the few resorts that has not been spoilt over the years, there are few high rise buildings and the old town is full of character. In addition to all this, the local people were very friendly and welcoming.

A most enjoyable vacation. Highly recommended.
