Rooms were very small and dark, shower was minimum size with a shower curtain, kept very clean. Breakfast was included but very basic. Family run hotel by very helpful mother, father and two sons. Restaurants and beach two minute walk away.

Stayed a few nights here out of season (February 08) - nice comfortable room with small balcony overlooking the Church (bells stop at midnight-thank goodness).Bathroom a bit small and poorly lit but OK for a couple of nights. Decent breakfast in the bar ,which appears to be a locals' haunt and has a buzz and atmosphere in the evening.
Friendly and comfortable and fine if you want to spend time in town but if you want beach and a pool stay somewhere else.
We stayed for a week at the Hotel Tonet in Tossa, and thought it was excellent value for money. I enjoyed the small family feel and the staff were friendly, even despite the language barrier! Also, the tapas plates available at the bar were wonderful!
We had a good sized double room (actually two singles pushed together), with an enormous closet on the second floor. It faced a backstreet and had a blackout type blind to shut out the light and any noise - great for getting you into local sleeping patterns quickly!! The room had a large portable fan too, that was well used by us, and (surprisingly) a range of tv channels in various languages!
Obviously this is a cheap hotel, so we endured such things as towels that were a bit past their use-by-date and a tiny, odd bathroom (with toilet on an angle in the corner and a small shower with a curtain that stuck to you). However everything was very clean and tidy and I'll take that for the price we paid!!
Tossa itself it lovely and I can't wait to go back:)
The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. They parked our car in a safe location which was important to us. The bells from the church across the street rang until midnight and the bar on the first floor was noisy and made sleep difficult. The location is great since you can walk to restaurants and other attractions.
Stayed at the Tonet in August 2003, 4 adults and 2 children, hotel was very clean located in a very nice square opposite a big old church. The hotel is run by a lovely lady, booked on the web and was very happy with the hotel.
I would reccomend the Tonet to anybody, the only drawbacks with the hotel is that there is no pool! but the beach is only 2 minutes away and the church bells can be at bit noisey in the morning.
Would definately go back, we had a great time in Tossa.
