After holidaying for 9 years next door, at Vasco da Gama hotel, thought we would change to something more modern. Accommodation excellent except for the museum TV - tiny screen
and only 2 English speaking channels - BBC world and parts of Eurosport. Loads of TV
channels for Portuguese/Spanish and Dutch guests.
Only stayed B&B. If we had been Dutch/Portuguese/Spanish, would have enjoyed the selection of cheeses and cold meats on offer,. However, being British, we wanted their advertised hot breakfast - what a let down! Every day there was tepid/cold greasy bacon with equally cold/.tepid scrambled egg and baked beans - totally uneatable so had to exist on (strange) cereals and bread.
Compared to the BIG screen multi British TVs and excellent breakfasts at Vasco da Gama,
we were somewhat disappointed. Raised these points verbally and on hotel review sheet as we shall be holidaying twice next year (as usual) and would return to Dunamar if the problems above were sorted out. The only half answer I received was that as great majority of their guests and fron Spain/Portugal plus a great many from the Netherlands who were happy with cold breakfats and none-British TV channels, there were no plans to alter things.
Gave them 3 weeks to let me have a full answer by email and give me a quote for rooms for 6 people for 2 weeks next year. No reply received - possibly because we are British and have British tastes ? Have now booked to return to Vasco Da Gama hotel.
