“Good location.”

We stayed at the Alba for New Years Eve. The room was very good (we had a studio) with two single beds,a bathroom, and a small kitchenette. The kitchen had a good sized fridge, a twin electric hob, sink and microwave with grill, so really everything you need for self catering. The only thing was, that after I had cooked a full english breakfast, I read the welcome pack where it said that you shouldnt cook meat or fish because of the smells clinging to the soft furnishings! This seemed to me to be slightly silly as if you were self catering, unless you were vegetarian, you would at some stage want to cook some meat or fish!
The apartment also had air conditioning, which as we were staying in December, we used for heating.
The staff were extremely friendly and the apartment was exceptionally clean.
One down side was our water pressure was terrible, though our friends who had two adjoining rooms were fine.
The location was good, as it was only 5 minutes walk to the front, but away from any noisy bars.
We would definately stay here again.

“Well located, not bad!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

This apart-hotel is very simple, not luxurious at all, but has all the basic things you want in your summer holidays. Large and comfortable rooms, a living room with a small kitchenette and clean bathroom.
The breakfast is very simple but has all you need to energize you for a nice morning on Monte Gordo beach.
It has a small pool right near the entrance which can be helpfull for a mid-afternoon refreshing dive.

Overall, its value for your money. I would recommend for 4-persons family since the rooms ( at least mine) have space and bed-sofas enough.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pool, on the highest possible floor ( I think is the 3rd).

“Happy to recommend the Alba!”

Just got back from a sunny week in Monte Gordo, self-catering at the Alba Hotel. Pleasantly surprised by the size of our rooms; good shower; very basic cooking facilities (2 rings, and microwave - but it grilled too, which was useful) but all the equipment was of a good quality, so you didn't have to battle with rubbish tin openers or blunt knives! Comfortable beds; good air conditioning in both the bedroom and living room; efficient daily maid service (though their timing was unpredictable ... and they arrived several times when my teenage children were still in bed); very helpful Reception staff (who also manage the little bar) who had good English; clean pool with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas (though several of them were very wobbly and past their prime). We were on the 5th (out of 6) floor were it was very quiet - avoid a few rooms on the ground floor near the entrance hall which I should think are rather noisy. We didn't eat in the restaurant at all, so I can't comment on that. Good, reasonably-priced restaurants nearby, which was useful as the local supermarket (just over the road) is very limited; good bread and fruit but don't expect much else!

Very hard to fault this hotel - good food, clean hotel, decent pool, friendly staff, great location. Also I think it's worth pointing out breakfast was only €3 each!
