We only stayed for one night at this apartment hotel, but it was a good choice. The rooms are big and clean, with separate rooms for living room/kitchen and bedroom. The view over the city and the castle was also great. My wife didn't like the bed and couldn't sleep well but I had no problem.
We drove by rental car and the hotel was easy to find. The parking was free, the hotel has a big parking garage underneath. The hotel is very close to the city center, you basically walk across a bridge and a few streets to get there.
The dinner at the restaurant was very good (and not that expensive), the staff made it feel like a top restaurant which was pushing it a bit too far (really I can poor my own mineral water). Breakfast was wonderful too, it had everything we needed from fresh bread, to eggs, to local delicacies etc.
The only major negative was that the airconditioning was broken in the entire hotel (they said it would be fixed tomorrow, but we left the next day....). Since it was around 26C (79F), this made the room very hot, even with the windows open, so we decided to stay out all day. But with the windows open, a lot of mosquitoes came in - the amount of mosquitoes in this area was astounding by the way (I realize this is not the hotel's fault, although it is located close to some still water, but never saw so many mosquitoes in any place in Portugal!).
All in all, if the airconditioning is fixed, I would recommend the hotel.
