During a brief skiing holiday with my wife and parents and due to the strong winds in Karpenisi, we decided to resort hop and planned to spend 2 nights in Arahova. I booked 2 rooms in Nostos pension through a Greek winter resort magazine, the pension is actually well advertised. After having trouble finding it, Its small entrance carpeted with 'cheap fake grass' is not something that makes a great first impression!! The entrance lobby was full of smoke, made my eyes water, and we were welcomed by a dismissive apathetic man. We were given our keys and up we went through a very narrow staircase to the top floor.
The decor of the room was yellow terrible and in keeping with the rest of the hotel it stank of smoke. Even the bed covers had burn marks on them!!! The window was over looking a wall and not the great view that they promised on the magazine. This room was for 120 euros.
For 1 or 2 nights I don't usually mind staying in something that it is not luxurious, but I expect certain standards and I don't mean flat screen TVs (which it had), I mean cleanliness.
I immediately went down and told the man that the rooms were dirty and I was not prepared to stay there, he then became rude and offensive. We left and I didn't pay him a penny.

I would avoid this place at all costs as there are a number of cleaner and cheaper places to stay around town. Arahova unfortunately has been spoilt by dropping its quality and raising its prices. There are still good deals so don's accept getting scammed!!!
