“Highly recommend a visit!”

I ended up at Hotel Scherf due to a double booking at the Best Western in Padeborn - and I couldn't have been more pleased! The hotel is lovely located on a pedestrian street (you can however drive to the hotel) and the area is beautiful.
The rooms are beautiful, very large and very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and attentive.
The hotel has a parking garage and I recommend to book this as in the high season parking might otherwise be a problem close to the hotel.

The breakfast was superb with a wonderful choice of food and you also had a choice of cooked breakfast.

Unfortunately I only stayed one night but I will definitely come back with my husband for a long weekend.

“True Hospitality”

Our stay at the Hotel Scherf was perfect!

The rooms were immaculate, generously sized and finely appointed. The hotel was elegant without being stuffy. The staff was very friendly, attentive and so eager to please each guest. We enjoyed the warm and social atmosphere in the dining room at breakfast - where the selections were plentiful (even for our 9 & 11 year old American boys).

We stayed for three nights in June of 2011 during a delightful festival in the quaint town. Every day we strolled the town center and the incredibly beautiful gardens. The Scherf Hotel was perfectly located to all and the indoor pool was a great way to unwind after sightseeing.

The history and pride in this long-time family-owned establishment was evident and in fact created such a comfortable environment. We were welcomed with the finest hospitality and Mr. Scherf went out of his way to see that our experience was not just satisfactory but unsurpassed.

Please note: you will not be able to change currency in the town of Bad Lippspringe. Again... Mr. Scherf came to our rescue.

Many thanks to the Hotel Scherf.

Room Tip: Two separate buildings - we had a huge suite with kitchen for our family in the main building, but w...

“A HIDDEN GEM”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

We had the great pleasure of staying at the Scherf family run hotel from the 10th-16th September 2011, our party consisted of two mature couples whose ages ranged from 46-70yrs.

On arrival we were informed that we had been upgraded free of charge to two suites within the main hotel our rooms were 27 (first floor) & 46 (3rd floor) both rooms were situated to the front of the hotel and each had a balcony which over looked the beautiful quirky town of Bad Lippspringe and within walking distance of a really stunning park complete with water fountains, wood walk ways and beautiful flower displays. The town itself is very quaint and had a large selection of gift shops, restaurants, pizza and ice cream parlours etc.

We appreciated that our rooms had been upgraded and comprised of a seperate kitchen, lounge, bedroom and very modern bathroom complete with shower /wet room (no bath), two twin beds, sofa, lounge chairs and a TV the only English channels available were BBC news and CNN, a DVD player for the evening would have been useful for those of us that don't speak German, a coffee machine was supplied and was a godsend.

The hotel is immaculate probably the cleanest accommodation we have ever stayed in, all the staff are friendly and very helpfu,l Mr Scherf is a delightful host and he always enquired as to how things were, like the staff he could not do enough for us he was very much hands on which was nice to see.

Breakfast which was included in the price consisted of various cereals, cold meats, cheeses, varied fruits, fruit juices, rolls, bread, jams, scrambled eggs, bacon, boiled eggs. The dining room is very stylish we felt like we were guests of honour and the best Sunday crockery was being used complete with silver cutlery, tea/coffee pots, jugs etc, fresh roses and candles on the table. I loved it and felt like I was dining at the Ritz in London which we have had the pleasure of doing a few times.

The reason for our stay was to visit our son who lives in Paderborn, our second grand/great grandchild was born while we were there, the distance from the hotel to Paderborn was approx 8 minutes away by car.

The hotel offers a stunning heated swimming pool, sauna and fitness equipment which we enjoyed using.

We noted that the hotel appeared to be full which we felt was a good sign, we met both French and German guests but no English.

If you require an excellent standard of accommodation which is extremely clean and very friendly staff and excellent food you could not choose better.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Scherf and all the wonderful staff for a very pleasant stay and we very much look forward to seeing you all again next year.

Room Tip: Request a room to the rear of the hotel which is a lot quieter -late night pub next door and early m...
