We had the great pleasure of staying at the Scherf family run hotel from the 10th-16th September 2011, our party consisted of two mature couples whose ages ranged from 46-70yrs.
On arrival we were informed that we had been upgraded free of charge to two suites within the main hotel our rooms were 27 (first floor) & 46 (3rd floor) both rooms were situated to the front of the hotel and each had a balcony which over looked the beautiful quirky town of Bad Lippspringe and within walking distance of a really stunning park complete with water fountains, wood walk ways and beautiful flower displays. The town itself is very quaint and had a large selection of gift shops, restaurants, pizza and ice cream parlours etc.
We appreciated that our rooms had been upgraded and comprised of a seperate kitchen, lounge, bedroom and very modern bathroom complete with shower /wet room (no bath), two twin beds, sofa, lounge chairs and a TV the only English channels available were BBC news and CNN, a DVD player for the evening would have been useful for those of us that don't speak German, a coffee machine was supplied and was a godsend.
The hotel is immaculate probably the cleanest accommodation we have ever stayed in, all the staff are friendly and very helpfu,l Mr Scherf is a delightful host and he always enquired as to how things were, like the staff he could not do enough for us he was very much hands on which was nice to see.
Breakfast which was included in the price consisted of various cereals, cold meats, cheeses, varied fruits, fruit juices, rolls, bread, jams, scrambled eggs, bacon, boiled eggs. The dining room is very stylish we felt like we were guests of honour and the best Sunday crockery was being used complete with silver cutlery, tea/coffee pots, jugs etc, fresh roses and candles on the table. I loved it and felt like I was dining at the Ritz in London which we have had the pleasure of doing a few times.
The reason for our stay was to visit our son who lives in Paderborn, our second grand/great grandchild was born while we were there, the distance from the hotel to Paderborn was approx 8 minutes away by car.
The hotel offers a stunning heated swimming pool, sauna and fitness equipment which we enjoyed using.
We noted that the hotel appeared to be full which we felt was a good sign, we met both French and German guests but no English.
If you require an excellent standard of accommodation which is extremely clean and very friendly staff and excellent food you could not choose better.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Scherf and all the wonderful staff for a very pleasant stay and we very much look forward to seeing you all again next year.
Room Tip: Request a room to the rear of the hotel which is a lot quieter -late night pub next door and early m...
