Another stay in this hotel and my initial impressions remain accurate.

This is a nice hotel with very freindly and - in the main - professional staff. Previously we have stayed in a suite which was excellent - but with no air con it was a struggle to maintain an acceptable temperature despite the wet and cool weather. This time - for just one night - we had a fairly standard double room. Not really 4 star though - no tea coffee facilities and no trouser press. Poor hairdryer and dreadful shower which ran hot and cold and would not stay where you put it. The water was either scalding hot or stone cold.

The cafe area that I enjoyed on my very first visit was - as usual - closed on Monday. How can you close a guest facility on a Monday!! Customer service in Germany is a very dark art - based on the theory of that's what we offer - take it or leave it.

Cleanliness and nice staff are definite plus points in this hotel - but the restaurant experience remains outrageously bad. Probably the worst in my experience of any hotel of this alledged quality and close to an all time bad anywhere. I had a pork schnitzel, salad and under cooked potatoes - as usual it would have been much better from the local Schnell Imbiss. If you do stay here - don't eat here. Though in Germany most things are closed on Mondays so there is little choice.

Breakfast is a much better experience though the use of cheap cereals and orange juice is silly in a hotel of this standard. The home made muesli is brilliant though.

Probably the best hotel in the area and for that reason we would certainly return. But someone needs to tell the owner / management that the Chef needs sacking !!
