“Lovely hotel, wonderful hosts and a charming little town”

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of our French holiday this summer and wished it had been more. It is a charming hotel, beautifully situated and our room was very comfortable - not huge, but then this is France and it was pretty typical.
It is clearly a family run hotel and the proprietors could not have been nicer or more helpful. Madame was only too happy to encourage (and improve) my French!! Breakfasts were excellent and there are a number of good restaurants in the town itself (we especially liked the Italian at the top of the main street).
One small word of caution though - you do need transport. We were cycling, but the two American girls who were backpacking and had booked here because of its proximity to Mt Saint Michel ended up having to book a taxi.
Nevertheless, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel or this town. A lovely stay.

Room Tip: Rooms with views of the river are worth it

“Hidden Corners of France like Pink Champagne.”

That day I had travelled from Caen to Granville (a marvellous old heap of a town that you learn to love), taking-in the Bayeaux Tapestry (Bayeux had super-organised parking) .. and thinking that they could have woven it yesterday), then - TIRED! - from Granville, I sped, easily on the well-signed main roads, to Le Moulin de Ducey.
If you lke a chatty owner this place is heaven: but the owner and his wife are charming, and the quiet village, with the resplendenlty romantic river racing beneath the old mill building, will suit both a retired couple, or a brace of Newly Weds. If you are travelling with friends, this is the perfect "off the beaten" venu.
There is no restaurant, TAKE NOTE: but the owner directs you to a nice hotel one minutes walk away (drink what you like - no need to move the car from the DEDICATED Moulin de Ducey car park). In this allied hotel the food is good, well served, as the place is well managed. It's by the river, so - on a fine evening- you can take your coffee etc. outside.
The rooms at Le Moulin are slightly old fashioned but clean, with the soothing sound of the mill race for most of the rooms. It is all very civilised, and the breakfast is traditional with a marvellous window overlooking the ancient bridge and the river.
You are half an hour from Mont Saint Michel, a easy 70 minutes from St Malo, and the elegant delights of Dinard.
When I say that the owner is "chatty" - what I mean is that he is "convivial" - a lovely couple - just the sort you wish to chat with on a relaxing holiday [they are fluent in a nukmber of European langauges]. If you are on business: the hotel is a great place to unwind - I never use the expression 'Chill Out' - I feel like a chunk of farmed salmon!

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the river are very nice.

“Nice hotel. Lovely town.”

Stopped here on the way back from Brittany. It's a very nice little hotel. Our room was one of the more basic ones right at the of the stairs. It was pretty small but perfectly adequate. Ducy itself has everything you'd expect of a small French town. Good meats, good cakes, good bread... Also, not that I really had time to explore, the town seems to be very cyclist friendly with lots of routes of varying difficulty mapped out.

“Great location and great hosts”

We stayed for 5 nights in August and were delighted with the Hotel location beside the River Selune and the 17th century bridge. Great for touring the area. We were able easily to go to Dinan, St Malo, the Normandy beaches and Mont St Michel(only 20-30 mins). Even Ducey was a delight with some interesting buildings and walks with three places to have dinner. The service in the Hotel was really good and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast has a good choice - wonderfully fresh bread, croissants etc and if they had a restaurant for dinner that would have been even better. We can certainly recommend it and if in the area again we will return to Le Moulin de Ducey.

“Tranquille et charmant- Charming and quiet”

My second visit here (though the last was 18 years ago!)- great place in a quiet village about 20 kms from Mt St-Michel, so you can avoid the tourist madness while still being close. Hotel is an old mill, and you fall asleep to the soothing sound of the millstream. service excellent, owners very helpful. Rooms clean & very comfortable, well looked after, good variety at breakfast. Location picturesque and relaxing.
