We chose a "chambre superior" which was really expensive per sqm. The room was around 10 sqm, we were sharing the terrasse with others.

When we asked for a better room, they said it was one of the favourites of the clients because the other rooms were noisy because of the road...

No mini bar in the room "because you find a bar near the hotel"... yes, but can we put our drinks in their fridge then? :-)

No bottle of water or a sweet attention for the guests and for a three stars, this is unusual.

Even the soap and shampoo were cheap.

The service is really poor and rude. When you arrive, you have the feeling to interrupt the receptionist and that a smile would kill her....

This is really unfortunate because the city is so beautiful. Please, stay somewhere else...

We stayed at the Hostellerie du Cigalou for 2 nights last weekend. We were a little apprehensive after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor, but our stay was very comfortable. We had a room overlooking the road, which we requested, and the first night left the window open and found it very noisy, however, the second night we closed the windows and relied on the air conditioning, which was very quiet and had a much better night. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We spent some time sitting by the pool, this was lovely, a real sun trap. Bormes les Mimosas is an idyllic village which we have visited many times over the last 20 years, and would certainly return to the Hostellerie du Cigalou.

Try L'Oliviers for dinner, we had a lovely meal there.

The receptionist was not at all nice and client oriented. The price on the room was 20 EUR less than the one on the internet reservation. The noise during night and early morning made us to feel not so confortable. After all we were in holiday.....In the evening you cannot relax on the terrace because of the smell from the kitchen of the restaurants. The breakfast is unacceptable poor (instant cofee for 13 EUr????!!!!) and too expensive. The staff is not speaking English (but this is only a detail as we manage in French). I do not recommend this hotel as the services are really poor and the location is not an advantage, "au contraire"! Bormes les Mimosas is a nice romantic village and this is the only positive fact.

Hostellerie du Cigalou offers pleasant accommodation in this charming hillside town. Our room-a Bucolique- was spacious, pretty, and with a large bathroom. A small terrace looked out to the sea and to the Ile Port-Cros. The swimming pool was small and not adequately looked-after- but fine for a quick cooling dip. Many of the rooms are over the hostellerie's restaurant. But most of the evening and early am noise came from traffic. The room was air conditioned; and closing the windows eliminated street noise. The desk service staff were usually over at the restaurant but seemed nice enough. The town itself is a special, lovely gem. A good restaurant choice would be Le Tonnelle, next to the inn.
