Have you read the review by Paulreiki ? Well, I was in the same group and want to give my views which are different from his. Paulreiki has some financial responsibilities for our group and so he knows that we stayed in this hotel for just one reason: it was inexpensive. One's comments, I feel, should not ignore what one paid. And there's a great difference between staying with a large group and staying as a couple. I think that we got more than we paid for. Paul just had bad luck with his room. The hotel has 151 rooms and if one - lowly paid - chambermaid makes a mistake, one should not damn the whole hotel. Did Paul never make just one mistake in his career ? My room was very acceptable - for what we paid. My lights worked perfectly and my key-card never failed. My room was close to the pool but I never smelled any chlorine. Was Paul looking for things to complain about ? Several of our group praised their rooms. One astute gentleman, at dinner the first evening, said: I've got a splendid room; I've just been sitting on my balcony, admiring the Vosges. As for the staff, did Paul ever speak kindly to any of them ? I spoke (in French) to one young waiter. He told me his name and that he came from Casablanca. We chatted a little about that. Ever after, whenever this young man saw me, he smiled and asked if he could help. He felt, I believe, that I'd treated him as a person and not a servant. On my return to England, I realised that I'd left behind a number of small - but valuable - items. I emailed the hotel and got a reply within hours. They had found my things and would send them on. They did this very promptly. How very kind.
