“Excellent place to recharge your batteries”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We stayed here for 3 nights. Very nice location with easy car access (ample free parking). From the hotel you can get onto several walking trails. Or you can drive to the center of Spa in just a few minutes. Comfortable, modern rooms. Nice wellness facility (we took a very nice massage). Excellent breakfast choice. Entre Ter & Mer is their evening restaurant, one of the top locations in Spa - we very much enjoyed having dinner here.

“Hotels that love to say yes: except to those under 16.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

We spent two nights in a junior suite of the hotel, accompanied by our two children. From our point of view, the hotel met all the requirements of a 4-star hotel. The living room of the suite was quite large, with big windows and a little balcony. The bedroom was rather small. The suite had a nice modern bathroom and a separate toilet. Our suite was located in the old part of the hotel, but apart from some minor diy-issues it was very convenient. This part is overlooking the roundabout to Spa, so there is some noise from trucks driving past. Breakfast was ample. However, the passages around the breakfast counter are narrow, so at rush hour, getting something to eat was not easy. Although there were 3 to 4 members of staff present in the breakfast area, they did not manage to clear the tables/refill the stocks/clean up the floor in reasonable time. Check in was efficient but not very personal.
So far for the adults of our company. For our dear 2-year-old (d2yo), the hotel was far less welcoming. Although she loved the big sofa bed provided in the living room, she was saddened that she wasn't welcome in the hotel pool. Only after 18 or 19h, children are allowed in the pool area. This information is only found in very small letters on the hotel website. When d2yo caught her hand in the electric doors at the entrance, the staff behind the reception didn't blink an eyelid, nor ask afterwards how she was doing. Worse was the experience with room service. We ordered two easy meals right before bed time, but it took more than 1h30 to arrive. Only after calling the reception repeatedly, the food showed up. The reception staff promised to take the costs off our hotel bill but at check out (obviously) it did appear, accompanied by a bar charge which wasn't ours. Finally, d2yo did not appreciate the two big flies that hovered around the room upon our arrival. Our equally dear 3-month old had it hardest: her baby bed was installed without a mattress. Apparently she was supposed to sleep directly on the frame. Luckily housekeeping had left many many towels so we were able to create a softer layer. As this creates a potential security risk, I did warn reception staff of this.

Room Tip: The rooms in the old part at the front are very nice, but there is some noise from the street. There...

“Long weekend in Spa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

We arrived on Friday evening and left on Sunday after lunch. The hotel is very nice. Rooms are modern and pretty fancy (we had a superior room). The bathroom is well equipped and spacious.

The restaurant is ok and we had a very nice dinner the first evening (some very good game on the menu). The chef is apparently quite well known. The setting and decoration of the restaurant could be a bit better (not very romantic or stylish). In any event Spa and surroundings offers plenty of good other restaurants as well (e.g. Les Lébioles is very good and the setting is perfect in an old castle).

The hotel bar is nice (lot's of wood) and it's nice to just sit there with a beer or play some pool.

The private spa facilities are good. Nice swimming pool, jacuzzi, wide range of massage and wellness treatments, sauna etc. The gym is unfortunately not located next to the spa and swimming pool, which is a bit of let down (you have to walk through corridors etc.).

Personnel was very friendly and helpful.

There's an extensive breakfast buffet and everything we had was very good.

“Good value for your money!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

We stayed at this very nice clean hotel last weekend and we where very satisfied overall. Staff really friendly and good environment and personalized hotelservice. The SPA facilities at the hotel where ok, only thing was roomservice - they where quick but food was not that good. Nice atmosphere. Parking was at walkindistance from the entrance and free of charge, which one normally would expect.

Good bed, friendly staff, good breakfast. Just had a problem with the carpark. When you arrive late the carpark is full and it's not easy to leave the car on the street.
