Well situated hotel, close to the Railway Station. Price very convenient taking into account that Knokke is quite an expensive resort.
The hotel was ok but needs a little bit of renovation. The room was small but as we stayed only 1 night, it was ok. The room also was old and needs some re-decoration.
Breakfast was good, enough choice but bread wasn't so fresh.
We had a room with a street view but wasn't too noisy. You have to count at least 15 minutes walk to get to the beach.
We had six nights in this hotel which was on the Belgian coast about 9 miles from Bruges.
The service was excellent with friendly staff who all spoke English.
The beds were comfortable and the buffet breakfast plentiful. Although close to the main street of Knokke, street parking was possible and free during the week. At the weekend, it was possible to park for 3 Euros/day at the rail station 200 m away.
A bit noisy at night, even this died down after midnight.
There was also an excellent restaurant and coffee bar on the ground floor of the hotel
I had a room just behind the elevator, which is not recommended! The room (nr. 206) was not too big: the bed was placed in such in way you had little space to pass it. The bed itself was ok. The window had a view on somebody else his kitchen. It was cold in the room which normally I do not mind, but this time it was very cold outside (snow and frost). The bathroom was very tiny. It was difficult to get yourself on the toilet and you had to stand half way in the room to dry yourself with the towel. For business or just one night stay, it is an ok hotel, but for more nights or for spending your holidays here: I should not chose this hotel. Very difficult to park your car too. Very old fashioned and as we say in Dutch: oubollig.
Hotel is located on the Lippenslaan ( one of the main shopping streets in Kokke) 5 minutes walk from the train station, which is very convenient if you arrive by train. It is quite a walk to get to the beach - about 800 meters and double that distance if you want to go to Knokke le Zoute which is the less build up area of Knokke with sand dunes.
The rooms at the back of the hotel were quit and there was no noise problem. Breakfast was included and it was ok. A selection of Belgian bread with toppings: charcuterie, cheese, jam, honey and some fruit althought most fruit came out of a jar, which I think is a real shame. The breakfast area was very clean.
The room was of a decent size, but our room smelled of smoke all the time so had to sleep with the window open. Although I booked for a double room, we had two single beds pushed together ( the hotel was fully booked so maybe there was no other room available and I booked this quite late) The bedspread was dirty and the beds were terrible to sleep on. I normally never suffer from back ache and slept very badly in those beds. The bathroom had a shower with a lot of water pressure but bathroom was a little dated. The hotel is at the most 2-3 stars. There is no safe in the room. There is a small TV, a desk and as small round talbe with 2 chairs.
I would not stay in this hotel again because I don't want to sleep in those beds again and would prefer a hotel closer to the beach.
The reservation process was excellent and check-in was very fast. Shame about the bad beds. Cost of a double room (2 adults) including breakfast is Euro 100 per night to give you an idea.... ( you might get it cheaper in low season)
The restaurant I really recommend is "La petite Tortue" close to the Bora Bora bar in Knokke Le Zoute. It's a family run restaurant with delicious food and a lot of atmosphere.
