“Quite impressed The food's great if you don't mind the cold breakfast buffet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 March 2006

Stayed here in march 2006.I travel frequently around Europe and this hotel is up in the top tier for quality and service.

It's suitated on a junction/roundabout but the rooms we had (3 travelling)were at the back of the hotel so no noise.Rooms are decent.Mine had two good sized single beds shoved together to form a double(this is common and if the singles are small you spend all night sliding down between them.)Buy some double beds for heaven's sake.

The lift is tiny. There are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms which is a shame and the breakfast (for a bacon + eggs man like myself)is typically disappointing.

Very good dinner menu (not in English).Superior service in the dining room,3 of us had steak and it was cooked perfectly.Everything is nicely presented.

You can smoke everywhere apart from the dining room. The bar area is small but there is a quiet seperate room for coffee/drinks.

Try this hotel out.I've been to lots in Europe and it's worth a visit.

“The Best Western Ambassador Hotel Bosten is perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2004

My teen daughter was to compete in a Fencing World Cup in Welkenraedt, Belgium, in the beginning of June 2004. Among the hotels proposed by the organizers we chose the Best Western Ambassador Hotel Bosten in Eupen because it was the closest to the competition, and the rate appeared reasonnable:
100 Euros/night for a "standard" double room, including buffet breakfast and all taxes.
My first contact with the hotel through Email for planning the reservation was extremely cordial and efficient, and to me, that sets the tone. The word "standard" used by the hotel on their description led us to expect the usual average room with probably some left over smell of cold tobacco on the window drapes.
As we were driving from Amsterdam where we spent 2 beautiful days, which is by the way a beautifull scenic drive on a perfect road, I called the hotel to warn them of our late arrival in the evening, and I was assured that someone would be there until 11:00PM. Then, sudden rain showers surprised us, and we got delayed seriously when a German truck blocked the road ahead of us. We pulled in front of the hotel way after 11:30PM, and were greated under pouring rain by a smiling lady who ran to the car to help us with our luggage. She had been waiting for us before going home. "We'll do the check-in formalities tomorrow" she said, as she gave us the key to our room and helped us to the elevator.
When we opened the door to our "standard" room, we found ourselves in a huge entrance with enough closet space to suit a royal couple. The bathroom to the right had a big window with view on the surroundings hills, and was comparable to the bathrooms generally found in 5 star resorts.
As for the bedroom itself, it was huge, with a sitting area, a refrigerator full of divers drinks, a large desk, a big TV, and a superb taste in the furnishing, 2 large windows with very clean draperies offering a soothing view on the river below where a group of ducks have their habitat, and the 2 very large beds covered with a light but warm "couette" were very confortable.
Should I add that the "included" breakfast was a magnificant homemade buffet with a warm service from 6:30am to 10am like seen only in old movies.
As we woke up pretty late, the manager called us to make sure that we were not missing our breakfast. That was a nice touch.
The restaurant is know in the area for its gourmet dinners.
Another detail about the special attention we received there: on the last day, as we were checking out early to go to the competition, the manager let us know that my daughter was welcome to stop by after for a shower if she wanted to, before heading for the road.
The location is a strategic one, just a few miles from Aix-La-Chapelle (Aachen) in Germany to the East, Liège and Maastricht in Belgium to the West, Luxemburg and France to the South. Amsterdam is approx. 2 1/2 hours drive to the North-West.
Many travel sites offer reservations to the Best Western Ambassador Hotel Bosten, but the direct contact with the hotel got us the best deal:
----------------------------------- (Roger Bosten).
There is no language barrier, the staff is multilingual as is the country itself. It is a family run hotel, and it shows in every detail.
The hotel is at the intersection of 2 small roads, but it is perfectly soundproof.
We will do it again next year and stay longer.

For complete description:
-----------------------------------------------
Another thing: we rented our car in Amsterdam with Europcar on line, and they were perfect, no hassle, the best deal, nice car...etc

I had never written a review before, but that hotel deserved the attention.
