We stayed in their 'other' hotel 15mins walk from the main building. The rooms were dark, old fashioned (think 70's decor minus the shag-pile carpet and lava lamp), dirty and with a plastic pink bathroom.

When we called over to the main reception to clean the room again or have us moved the receptionist was rude and quite frankly didn't want to help. We mentioned that the company with which we were doing business with at the time had recommend them and that this could potentially harm their future business. Suddenly nothing was a problem, we even had furniture delivered to our balcony.

Having breakfast in the other building was a bind every morning and we had to make sure we took everything with us for the day so we didn't have to return to the room.

On the few occasions that I asked for advice about various things at the reception I was greeted by the young lady who took ages to acknowledge me then didn't really want to help anyway. Attitude!!

This hotel may be in the centre of town but DON'T stay here. There are better ones like the ALPEN ROSE further up the road near the glass factory.

1st night they were fully booked and we had to stay in their second hotel (just rooms: no reception, no breakfast, no nothing!!!) 2nd night we could move to the main building: small room with a plastic bathroom and no guest amenities(no minibar,no gym, no sauna, very small television!!!). 12€ for a breakfast that contained just the most nessersary, fruit salat from a tin ( very bad!!), Bread Rolls old and dry, there was no choice of muesli or anything at all. THIS IS NOT WHAT WE ARE EXPECTING OF A 4 STAR HOTEL!!!

Stayed in a single room in summer 2000. The room was tiny, dark and slightly fusty. The entire hotel was very dark in fact. The staff were helpful though and all spoke English. It didn't seem like 4* at all though - more like a good 2*.

Kufstein is a lovely little town, incredibly sleepy and prim and proper. The hotel is right in the centre of town, at the top of the hill, close to a couple of small shopping malls, the mighty fortress and the main street. From here it's a gentle stroll down the cobbled street to the Inn river.

Checkout the "Inn Cafe Hell" on the water front. Noone can hear you scream...
