We stayed for 2 weeks and had a wonderful holiday. We found the location suited us perfectly with the Cable Car station and bus stop right opposite, with a half hourly bus service to the centre of Innsbruck. We stayed half board and could not fault the food, with a five course meal every evening and choices available on all courses, and a substantial buffet breakfast. We found the staff and management friendly and helpful and the pool and sauna facilities were good. The one small negative would be the choice of background music in the dining room, which was the same every night and got a little wearing after 2 weeks.

As a visiting couple from Mexico, our stay at the Eagles-Astoria was a total treat!. Great location near the condula, idillicly quiet, very friendly staff and exquisite cuisine by the owner and manager who is also a great gourmet cook. Very good breakfast buffet and wonderful 5 course slow food dinners. Nice art, too! The painter and owner Angela Kuellenberg was so kind guide me through the hotel, explainging her professional artwork. We will love to come back to the hotel next year.
The close proximity to Italy allowed us to a make a day trip excursion to lovely Bozen/ Bolzano and the glacier of the nearby Stubai was also very nice.

All round we enjoyed our stay at the Eagles Astoria. There was a pleasent pool and sauna which my children had all to themselves. The rooms where clean and cosy although we were dissappointed with the separate toilet that smelt very odd and the lid wouldn't stay up.

Unfortunately the food we had we found awful! As the week went on it seemed to get worse ect. very dry rabbit, ravioli tasting of manure and the same strange non-tasting chunks of what looked a cross between cauliflower and cous cous.

Luckily the food didn't make our stay unpleasent. Overall the hotel was comfortable and the staff were smily and helpful.

This hotel was visited mid April and was intended to be a weekend break for me as a single traveller.
The whole experience was one very good one, and i would always go there again, even at off season, as i did! The location is at the bottom of the Patscherkofel mountain, a good place for skiing in winter season, but equally as good as a weekend destination to visit the near by olympic city of innsbruck.
The owner/chef was the most friendliest person, the service was great, the facilities varied, very good TCM treatment available, even though more on the pricey side. There was an indoor pool which was very small, but if one went there first thing in morning or last thing at night one could be on one's own. The rest of the wellness facilities (sauna, infrared cabin etc) were all on the small to very small side, but good.
I was given a very specious double bedroom even though I was a single traveller. It faced south, so had sun from morning on and overlooking an alpine scenery.
The best of this hotel is without doubt the cuisine...which is exceptionally good. Great variety, perfect taste, felt more like star cuisine than alpine eatery. Perfect food all the way. Outside the hotel is a bus stop with buses on half hourly intervals taking you to the city, 20 min ride approx.
Guests were mainly couples, a quiet atmosphere, hardly any kids there, but the ones that were have been extremely well behaved. All guests were either Swiss or Austrian which I regard as a good sign, if it's good enough for the locals it is good enough for the foreigner. Don't expect mass tourism here, it's no place for the Sharons of this world, but if you are after some quality accommodation then this is the right hotel to stay in.
