Our only stopover at Austria was at this hotel which meant visiting Innsbruck 5 consecutive days.. and even that didnt bore or tire us.
Dont have anything much to add about the hotel than what has been told. offcourse walking through the restuarant to visit the pool or sauna keeps you on the edge (!!) but its manageable. i wudve loved to give it 5 stars for the location but for the fact that the public transport access to Innsbruck closes at midnight and hence you have to hire taxis if you want to enjoy the Innsbruck night life.
the cable car ride (5 mins walk away from hotel) is breath-taking, see snaps. once you reach there walk another hour and you would reach to top to view the snow clad alps. cover that first and then come back to the cable car station for return and have lunch at the restaurant. we made the mistake of lunch first and then lazed around on our way to the top and back and by the time we reached back the last cable car had gone a good 60mins ago. At 6pm, on top of a mountain, with family incl kids and with no soul at sight, we panicked ...and then luckliy saw the restaurant staff were about to drive down in 5mins, so they gave us the lift. it was a scare, quiet funnnily the last cable car departs at 430pm, despite sunlight being very much around till 730pm!
At innsbruck i gave a miss to the swarovski crystal gallery, based on reviews in tripadvisor and i suggest the bergisel ski jump isnt a great site either.
The zoo, the hungerberg cable car, the markets, the bus rides, the castle and the museums are all good go to places. since we had a kid, we couldnt afford to spend much time in museums etc since they run out of patience.
But if you dont have kids, do suggest you walk around innsbruck on foot, its very enjoyable with the colours, the scenic landscape, the sense of peace, the fresh air and the pretty ladies around!!!
Buy the Innsbruck card from the hotel reception - even if you are there for a day. offcourse its a steal if you are staying for 2-3-4 days, Gives access to all places, public transport as well as cable car rides.
Room Tip: my guess is all rooms are same and the church bell didnt bother us as we sleep like logs!!!
