Nora and Eamon Devlin welcome you into their home and circle of friends like family. The rooms are so spacious and the linens and furnishings have been carefully coordinated to create an ambiance beyond description! The American queen size beds guarantee a perfect night's sleep. Nora's paintings of the local landscape adorn the walls. Eamon's woodworking graces every room. All rooms face Lough Foyle even the ensuite as the house affords each visitor breathtaking views of Northern Ireland, a glimpse of the Giant's Causeway, Macgilligan's Point and Scotland in the distance. The design of this house provides views from every room. The breakfast room reflects a Blue Willow style and the adjoining conservatory is perfect for relaxing as the sliding doors lead to the expansive terrace. Nora and Eamon will make you fall in love with the Inishowen Peninsula - Cook's Hill, Kinnagoe Bay, Sweet Nellie's Beach, Trawler Man Pub in Moville (meet Tony McAleer the owner and best tour guide) and the Shore Walk to Greencastle. The Cosy Cottage in Moville makes awesome chips with salt & malt vinegar! Nora's scones are to die for as well as her sumptuous Irish breakfasts. They will entertain you with their anecdotes of County Tyrone and Inishowen, rides in Eamon's handcrafted wooden carts pulled by Rosie, their beloved horse and their love of music and dance. Be sure to try the Washington House rocking chair - Eamon's latest creation! I do hope by now that it's been painted red to match the door! Be sure to ride the Inishowen Rural Transport to visit Buncrana, Carndonagh and Malin Head, the northernmost point in Ireland! The five days/four nights that I spent at The Washington House remain the highlight of my first trip to Ireland! I highly recommend this B&B as you will not find a more gracious host/hostess. Their hospitality knew no bounds, County Donegal is often overlooked by tourists who visit Derry and head south. This peninsula is a jewel just 20 minutes from Derry. I travelled the country by Bus Eireann, Ulsterbus, Swilly Transportation and Inishowen Rural Transport discovering parts of Ireland that I never would have experienced from a tour bus or rental car. I have already booked my return flight for July 2012 and have notified Eamon & Nora that I want the middle room again. The Washington House must be on your Irish itinerary!!!!!!!!!!!!!
