Stayed here three weeks in January 2012. Friendly hotel staff, German breakfast costs extra but features a good assortment of meats, cheeses, yogurt, and breads. Rooms are large by German standards but very clean. Four story hotel is virtually soundproof, but ask for a room overlooking the west side park. It's a five minute walk through the medieval walled city of Amberg. Visit the city museum, walk through St. Martin's church, and stop at a couple of bakeries and coffee houses. Hotel is in a safe area and parking is in the back of the hotel.
One English channel on the cable system. Beds are rather hard with the standard German comforter. Shower is in the tub. White-tiled bathrooms are immaculate.
Room Tip: West side rooms overlook a park and are quieter.
