We spent 2 days in the Parador de Arcos de la Frontera and loved every minute. The Parador is centrally located in the Plaza del Cabildo at the top of this picturesque Pueblo Blanco. Driving up to the Parador is an experience as the cobblestone streets get narrower as you climb.
The views from the outdoor terrace are spectacular! Restaurant and bar service is available there. Sitting in the terrace would be even better if the hotel would put some umbrellas to provide a smidgen of shade during the day. There is a second terrace off the second floor with lounge chairs. As with the first terrace, it could be improved with the simple addition of umbrellas. The hotel also has a lovely, plant-filled interior courtyard.
We had a double room with a view of the Plaza. Some reviewers note the tolling church bells but that didn’t bother us as we considered it part of the overall charm. The room was spacious, the beds firm and comfortable. The bathroom was large and spotlessly clean. Water pressure was excellent. Wi-fi was available in the room and throughout the hotel.
The staff was attentive to a fault. Parking for guests is available in the Plaza.
The Parador’s location is perfect for exploring the town’s winding streets and venturing further into the mountains and the other Pueblos Blancos by car.
Attention smokers – rooms are non-smoking but smoking is allowed in the outside areas.
