“A wonderful experience”

We had a very pleasant stay in an incredible surrounding. From the hill you can see the entire village of Arcos, in the evening you have an amazing sunset and the location gives you the opportunity to visit many other beatiful places like Sevilla, Cadiz, the 'pueblos blancos', ... . Kim and Filip make you feel very welcome and give you a lot of information on places to visit. The rooms are inspiring, clean and give you more then enough space. Each room has a charming terrace, what makes it even more pleasant. Anyway, we had a great vacation! Thank you, Kim and Filip!

“A hidden treasure”

I thought twice as to whether to write a review or not for this hotel as part of me would like to keep it a secret!
What a delightful country hotel. My husband and I spent 6 nights at the Cortijo Escondido where we were given a very warm welcome from Filip and Kim, a young Belgian couple who have worked hard to build and open this small charming hotel. The rooms are spacious, exceptionally clean and all have a terrace. We were given a free upgrade to one of the Luxury rooms which had a terrace with a fantastic view!
The breakfasts - warm bread from the local bakery, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit etc - were served in the small courtyard which is central to all 6 rooms - both shaded and sunny as you please to sit. Evening tapas style meals were also available and although simple and limited in choice, we found them tasty and enjoyable. We also had the BBQ meal one evening, which has to be ordered in advance, but worth it to experience a quiet meal by the pool with a wonderful view and sunset to enjoy at the same time. Thank you also Filip for buying in some rose wine specially for us!
The hotel is situated away from the road - do not be put off by the 2km track you have to drive along to get there ( a bit daunting if you arrive in the dark but otherwise fine) - which means that if you are looking for a relaxing spot to unwind then this is it. If you tire of reading and lazing by the pool then there is also plenty to do in the surrounding areas - we visited local villages, Grazamela natural park, Jerez & Cadiz.
I know we will return again.

“Great location”

We spent 3 days in May at Cortijo Escondido with our 3 young boys. it is a great country side place with amazing view over Arcos de la Fontera and the surroundings. Location is perfect for daily excusions in Southern beaches, Cadiz, Montain, villages,...
For us, the best part of Andalousia if not Spain
The hotel is brand new and well done with very nice owners. We stayed at Casa Mirador, a old well renovated house 100m from the main house which is very convenient for familly with youg kids like us. Swiming pool is terrible as well with possibilities to do own barbecues next to. For diner best is to go to restaurants in close villages to experiment local food. We strongly recommand the region and this place.

“Tranquility and spectacular views”

We had a great and relaxing stay at the Casa Mirador, which is part of the Cortijo Escondido hotel, during two weeks at the end of May. The house has very recently been renovated and is very cosy, nicely decorated, offers all the comfort needed and has good and comfortable beds! The terrace and outdoor eating/sitting area has a good size and is nice, with beautiful plants. The views on Arcos de la Frontera, the hotel pool and the surrounding sunflower and corn fields and olive trees are splendid.
As the hotel has only recently opened its doors, we had the opportunity to have a look around all the rooms. They look very nice and luxurious and I especially liked the fact that every room has its own private terrace, with spectacular views, and easy access to the pool.
It’s a very relaxing place to spend your holidays at, yet at the same time we found that there were plenty of opportunities for touristic excursions. The location near Arcos is perfect, you’re not too far from Jerez either and we also did day trips to Ronda, Tarifa, Sevilla, Cadiz, Grazalema, Sanlucar de Barrameda, El Puerto de Santa Maria.
There are plenty of child-friendly options as well, such as the zoo and the famous horse school in Jerez. Every town and village has several playgrounds which were all very much approved by our 2 year old son.
The owners were very helpful, in general and with information on the region.
This was our first but certainly not our last holiday at the Cortijo Escondido!

  • Liked — The tranquility
  • Disliked — The weather - it was exceptionally cold for the month of May
