“charming cortijo”

We've stayed at this charming place for 3 nights. The cortijo is situated at a 10 minutes' drive from Arcos de la Frontera and is thus well-located to visit Ronda, the pueblo blancos, Cadiz, Jerez de la Frontera,...
We've stayed in a clean and spacious 3-person bedroom with all comforts, and enjoyed the tasteful breakfast buffet with delicious bread and fresh orange juice.
The owner Filip is very helpful and willing to give interesting tips.
In the evenings we had a nice supper near the splendid swimming pool while enoying a fantastic view on Arcos and an unforgettable sunset!

“meagre breakfast and no bathroom doors”

We booked here for 4 nights for 3 people but checked out early absorbing the loss .Even though the location was beautiful it was awkward having a room with no bathroom door and no visual privacy at all.The amazing thing is that I specifically phoned Filip from Canada to insure that the room would be suitable and he confirmed this.We have travelled all over the world and have never had a bathroom with no door .The other factor that contributed to us leaving was the scarcity mentality at breakfast and the atrocious coffee. We agree with one other reviewer that the food was terrible and extremely limited. The property otherwise is lovely but in rainy weather would be difficult to get to as the dirt entrance road is hilly and rutty.

Room Tip: ask for bathroom door

“A wonderful experience”

We had a very pleasant stay in an incredible surrounding. From the hill you can see the entire village of Arcos, in the evening you have an amazing sunset and the location gives you the opportunity to visit many other beatiful places like Sevilla, Cadiz, the 'pueblos blancos', ... . Kim and Filip make you feel very welcome and give you a lot of information on places to visit. The rooms are inspiring, clean and give you more then enough space. Each room has a charming terrace, what makes it even more pleasant. Anyway, we had a great vacation! Thank you, Kim and Filip!

“A hidden treasure”

I thought twice as to whether to write a review or not for this hotel as part of me would like to keep it a secret!
What a delightful country hotel. My husband and I spent 6 nights at the Cortijo Escondido where we were given a very warm welcome from Filip and Kim, a young Belgian couple who have worked hard to build and open this small charming hotel. The rooms are spacious, exceptionally clean and all have a terrace. We were given a free upgrade to one of the Luxury rooms which had a terrace with a fantastic view!
The breakfasts - warm bread from the local bakery, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit etc - were served in the small courtyard which is central to all 6 rooms - both shaded and sunny as you please to sit. Evening tapas style meals were also available and although simple and limited in choice, we found them tasty and enjoyable. We also had the BBQ meal one evening, which has to be ordered in advance, but worth it to experience a quiet meal by the pool with a wonderful view and sunset to enjoy at the same time. Thank you also Filip for buying in some rose wine specially for us!
The hotel is situated away from the road - do not be put off by the 2km track you have to drive along to get there ( a bit daunting if you arrive in the dark but otherwise fine) - which means that if you are looking for a relaxing spot to unwind then this is it. If you tire of reading and lazing by the pool then there is also plenty to do in the surrounding areas - we visited local villages, Grazamela natural park, Jerez & Cadiz.
I know we will return again.
