So the positives: great view, friendly, VERY comfy bed. Apart from that we are struggling. The hotel claims a number of things on the website such as sauna, hot tub, luxurious breakfast and home cooked dinners. Call me spoilt, but I think a hot tub should maybe be hot rather than tepid and that if there is a sauna, it might be switched on. In fairness, the sauna can be switched on for 5 CHF but that's not enough to get it hot so it's actually 10 CHF but you can hop into the hot tub first and then the sauna feels hot.
The food was OK sometimes but just poor on other occasions. "Cocktail de Crevettes" was literally 5 watery bottled prawns, a mound of mayo and some tinned pineapple. The cheese course was dreadful and looked like it had been cut the previous day. Frozen Spring rolls with sweet chilli sauce, frozen baked cheese and yoghurt with 3 frozen raspberries all indicated that the owners were just trying to save cash.
The car park is very full and has a lower section accessed by a slopey road. This wasn't cleared of ice and may be tricky to get up unless you have 4WD.
The staff were very pleasant but overall the owners really felt like they just had enough and wanted to retire. They appear to have run this hotel for a while and I am sure they deserve to retire. I won't go there again and if I did, I'd certainly eat out
