Just back from a 4 day / 3 night trip and felt I had to share.
1st: FOOD. This place only serves breakfast (€13 per person per day); therefore, despite advertising itself as being a HOTEL it is only a B+B. Upon arrival at the chateau we had to pay for a taxi to take us to the local SuperU and wait for us to do a supermarket sweep for food! Ridiculous. At least there was a fridge in the room.
2nd: SERVICE. Woeful. If you are not French (or at the very least do not speak French) you might as well forget it. We even got told off at 10pm one night for drinking / talking too loudly on the terrace!! This was with other hotel guests who were also staying for a night!! Turns out a French couple had complained. The only other guests at the chateau that night.
3rd: TAXIS do a roaring trade here. We had to use them at least twice a day just to eat; and that is only if we were lucky enough to book one (on a few occasions we were told they were all booked up!).
On the plus side, the infinity pool, although on the small side, was gently heated, peaceful, mostly empty, directly in the sun and faced onto the forest. Quite blissful!
Overall, it served as a great body boot camp with dreadful service. I would return again but only if I found out the management had changed!
