Montrichard is a small town on the river Cher. The hotel is OK, clean bedroom with bath. We went with WAShearings, so a pretty
basic package with a no-choice dinner menu. There is no resident's lounge and the bar is tiny. We asked for a room looking over the Cher. But I wouldn't recommend this because the main road lies between the hotel and the river, and the traffic noise was appalling throughout the night, we got virually no sleep for the week. Montrichard itself has little to offer, but visits to Villandry, Chenonceau, Amboise, Le Clos Luce (where Leonardo da Vinci spent his last three years) and Saumur were memorable as was a half day in Paris on the penultimate day of the holiday. The plus was the excellence of the driver/manager who really knew his stuff.
