“Fantastic, peaceful location and recently refurbished hotel.”

Just got back from a week in Schladming at the Alpine club. Firstly having read some mixed reviews we didn't know what to expect, however we were pleasantly surprised to find helpful and friendly staff and a new recently modernised apartment. There are two houses at Alpine club with around half the rooms having a mountain view, all the rooms have two balconies and while some have a full kitchen most have kitchenettes. There was ample parking, a basement for ski storage and an onsite restaurant and shop (which we did not use, but others guests seemed to enjoy it).

Our group consisted of two couples - we had two rooms, ours was on the 2nd floor with not much of a view (well of the forest behind the hotel) but had been recently refurbished to a high standard, our friends room was on the fifth floor and had a spectacular view of the mountains but had yet to be refurbished so was a little old fashioned. I would recommend renting a car if you travel out of season (we used www.hechl.at who have an office in schladming) as public transport is limited and it is a good 10-15 minute walk into town but don't let this put you off because the views are more than worth it for the location.

Schladming is a fairly small but well located town there are a few things to do here and there are plenty of cafés, restaurants and bars but as there were limited opportunities for skiing we ventured out to Salzburg (around 1hr away), Graz (around two hours away) and Radstadt (around 30mins away). During our stay the staff at Alpine club were more than helpful and we no problems to speak of, we will definitely return here again!

Room Tip: Get a room on a high floor, with a view of the mountain!

We have been here a few times in the past 6 years. We see really a positive evolution..renovated appartments are really nice and functional. Staff is pro-active and client focused.
We hope this trend can be kept !

“Once will be enough”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

This was our first visit to this resort and probably the last .
On arrival we were directed to a very tatty out of date apartment, on complaining ( this is supposed to be 5 star) I was offered an alternative ,which was fine if you are a fan of Ikea.
The whole building needs updating, the bar is closed in the summer but you can sit at the bar in the restaurant if you get there early enough!
On the up side the restaurant staff and food were both good in equal measure and very attentive. The surrounding area is quite lovely and if you are prepared for huge extremes of weather then all well and good.
As this is primarily a ski resort I am sure it would be fine ... my husband and son were in the middle of a sow storm on top of the Dachstein glacier...much to my sons delight.
There is a good mile walk down hill to the town where there are many lovely bars and restaurants.

Room Tip: If you want a view of the town below and the mountains ask for a front facing room. If you want to e...

Dear Mrs. WalesJennie,

We would like to thank you for your comments as we continually strive to ensure we deliver the best possible service and hospitality to our guests at all times. I am sorry to hear our choice of decor did not meet your expectations.

Although we do everything within our power to fulfil requests, we are unfortunately unable to guarantee a specific view or apartment (tip kindly recommended in your comment).
In relation to the restaurant, we have recently started to work with a new food and beverage operator and as a result have had to close during the summer. The bar will however open again during the summer months in the future. I will ensure your comments are passed on to the manager in charge; the staff will appreciate the positive comments.
On behalf of myself and the resort team I would like to thank you for taking the time to feedback regarding your holiday experience with us.

Best wishes,
Doris Mössinger

“a perfect ski break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

14 of us headed to the Mountains to ski... 11 were able to ski and 3 of us - not so much! The hotel was great at providing ski-school information before the time (which all turned out to be very useful)... and the 3 family rooms that we booked were more than adequate!

The Apartments (more suitably described than rooms) were well equipped... had comfortable beds and were clean! The mini-kitchen area was sufficient... and we had dinner in the restaurant one evening which was very tasty!

Even though i pulled the short straw with another friend to get the sleepercouch as my *bed*... it was comfortable and i had NO problem falling asleep!

use of the pool and the jacuuzi after a day on the slopes was a definite PLUS!!!!

a definite recommendation based on comfort, quality and the friendliness of the reception staff

“Would definitely go back.”

Have just spent a very enjoyable week here, arriving home today (18/06/11) and could not fnd fault with anything during our stay. We had a 2-bedroomed unit as we were 2 couples and so each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. Unit was very clean and had everything we wanted. We tried the restaurant the first night and was very impressed with both the food and the staff that we then ate there every night apart from the Tuesday when the staff had a well-earned day off. We did have a hire car which I think for us was a necessity as we planned to visit lots of places and some a long way away. The reception staff were all very helpful and friendly. I enquired about the internet and was warned that connection was not good and if I tried it and the connection was bad then I could cancel it the next day with no charge. I thought this was very fair. I couldn't get access the majority of the time in our unit but for what I wanted it for, I just sat in the nice comfortable chairs in reception and could connect there. To sum it up, we have all just had a lovely holiday and would love to go back again. Our reservation was via Diamond Resorts and it was also nice not to have to suffer the hard-sell process they inflict on you like they do when we stay in the USA.
