There has been a change of ownership and the hotel is back to its former glory. Everything is of high quality, including decor, rooms, staff attitude, food and service. Previous reviews should now be treated with caution.

I stayed in this hotel and was very dis-satisfied with attitude of staff, no staff on duty at night, lights put out at 9pm despite the fact that we were still sitting in lounge, animals free to roam in dining room, threadbare,dangerous carpets.

I'm 65 years old man and I have visited Austria (Voralberg and Tirol) several times since 1971. This was my first visit to Steiermark area and the first time I'm disappointed with the hotel.

Four stars rating bears no relation to price/quality. Cost savings have gone too far at the expense of service:
- no staff during the night (problems for early leaving hotel guests and e.g. using elevator with own risk)
- lack of cleaning staff in the dining room and wellness room (e.g. cleaning starts while people are eating or rubbish is on the floor from the day before)
- no heating in the ski shoe room
- no rooms for non-smokers
- dirty carpets in the hotel room
- no answers to my complain by e-mail.

It's nice to have a good dinner, but if you can't get to sleep afterwards, what's it worth.
The hotel has several "apres-ski-bars" out in front that play party music from 3pm until 10pm (at least) with powerfull speakers.
That wouldn't be much of a problem, if one would know ahead of time. One could just to avoid the house. But travel companies praise the hotel for it's peace and quiet.
So be aware: It's great for partying, not appropriate for romantic mountain village athmosphere.
