Me and my boyfriend came here in August 2011 half board. We loved it. The Do Golfe apartments where ideal for us.
The transfer from the airport was around 30 mins, the minibus driver was a lunatic though! We arrived at 12am to a lovely reception to a friendly woman who spoke english well. She told us about where we can find the local shop in the morning, what time the meals were and where our rooms was.
When we went into the room it was spotless and due to the brilliant maid service it was kept like that all week. The apartment was two single beds pushed together, when we arrived we only had one pillow each which we had to fold in half to sleep on but by the time we had got back from breakfast in the morning we had two extra on the bed (we didn't even ask) the maids must have noticed the folded pillows.
The bathroom was clean and had new towels daily. The wardrobe was a little bit smelly so we always left the sliding door open, it didn't effect the smell of our clothes though. And the only other thing I can say about the room is that it could have done with one more plug socket as the only ones was for the lamps at the side of the bed, but when you have cameras & phones to charge, straightners to plug in etc there is alot of messing around to do!
The view from our balcony was over villamoura, it was a lovely view. One night there was a thunderstorm over villamoura which we watched for two hours from our balcony which didn't effect us, It was amazing! I will upload the photos.
There was always enough sunloungers for everybody and considering this was peak season and we came out for our loungers at 12pm we was very impressed. The pool was well maintains, and the grass was cut everyday without fail. The grounds where just fantastic.
Breakfast was gorgeous, there was fresh pastries, breads, fruit, jams everymorning, The bacon and sausage however wasn't the nicest, but we wasn't really bothered because we enjoyed having the fruit etc. If your half board then everyday you got a choice of two different meals they where simple but delisious! I will upload photos of those too!
I must say that drinks at the hotel are quite expensive its 2 euros for a can of drink and it was 4 euros for the malibu in my malibu and coke. But to avoid this problem I simply went down the marina and bought a bottle of malibu in a liqure shop for 12 euros, bish bash bosh.
There was a pool table in the games room which we played on everynight and also a computer with the internet for a euro for 15 mins.
In the lobby you can find out different trips to go on and even if you didnt book with thomas cook you can still go on their excursions by ringing them up. We went out to zoo marine one day which was really good! We also went on the dolphin and caves tour which was brilliant! They took us out of their usual area just so we could see the dolphins, we stopped at a private beach and had a swim. We also went on the fast speed boat which was fantastic but i must say if you have back problems then I would not recommend because as a 19 year old it really can give you jip because of the boat hitting the waves at speed!
We went out for a meal into the marina, now it was gorgeous! but don't expect anything in the marina to be cheap. The a 3 course meal with 1 drink each cost us 100 euros!
Taxis into the marina was around 6 euros and the taxi drivers where really friendly!
There is a shuttle into the marina and to the beach at regular intervuls throughout the day.
If you take the money then you will have an amazing time but be prepared to spend it! Also go to parkys we had a full english breakfast there and regular drinks, they are very good!
I think I have said everything I can think of, basically its the best holiday I have ever been on and I can only wish I stayed for longer, I would defo go to hotel aparento do golfe again!
