Thankfully we were only here for 2 nights, the room faced both the back of the run down hotel from the lounge and the main road from the bedroom.. needless to say we didnt get much sleep from the noise level from cars and drunk people! We had to keep the window open as there was no air con.

The rooms were very dated and drabby, the worst bed i have ever slept in. The shower pole was kept up and pinned to the top with the plug string and the light in the bathroom had toilet roll stuffed in it to hold it in place

Check in was only between 5-7 so you have to make sure your flight is around that time.. we were late and thankfully they waited

Half the appartments were bricked up and all the windoews smashed in - i guess they must be re building the place as some reviews said it was all new!

After reading some of the reviews i was a bit apprehensive.We had a very pleasant stay in room 207 algardia apts june 2011 newly refurbished with air condition well equipped kitchen eg: toaster, microwave,electric kettle fridge coffee maker gas hob everything new.Very clean apt Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Close to the beautiful marina and shops 5minutes walk.would certainly book here again.

On arrival the look of the apartments were a little shabby,it looks like there is some restoration being undertaken on some of the building. We were 5 ladies on a week end break. We were put into the Marina Buzios buildings (part of complex), these were situated next to main road but its not that busy or noisy traffic wise. The apartment was spacious and clean and rooms were basic but comfortable, a little dated but good none the less. Good air conditioning, small balcony. I think the only disappointment was the pool, dont go by the picture, the pool we could use was contained within a walled garden, the pool was clean and there were a few tables and chairs but no sun loungers, ok for a while but not that comfy on the grass. 5 mins walk to Marina, 20 mins to lovely beach. I would rate this good rather than average if you are a couple or group of friends looking for fun in and around the Marina, Friendly staff.

This was our first much needed break for some time and we were disappointed. Part of the hotel is boarded up not sure why but the area in general was fine though very quiet. No feelings of problems in the area. The tiling in the corridors is falling apart, windows do not lock, no work surface in room 308 in the kitchen but cleaners do come everyday and generally the building is clean and towels etc replaced regularly. Our problem was that we were unaware that there is NO security person or manned reception after 6pm everyday. There were no doctor, hospital or police numbers listed anywhere. Maybe we were naive but I would have expected these details in any case. None listed in the room either. So I would urge would be guests to take this into consideration when planning to stay at Algardia. The staff were pleasant and helpful when we did ask for assistance.
