As said in other reviews this is a cheap hotel, you get what you pay for. I based the very good mark on other places i have stays in the same price range. I wanted a cheap holiday for me and my partner, we had a great week. The room was just what we needed, yes its old and tired. It is clean however and had everything we needed to sleep and cook some nice meals and dine on the balcony. The rooms are cleaned and bedding is changed mon to friday but not weekends. We did not use the pool area as there are fantastic beaches in the area and one of the best attractions in the algarve. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant on the first day it was edible but a bit greasy. There are good supermarkets not to far from the hotel. There are some fantastic restaurants in vilamoura offering fresh local fish. The staff are friendly and helpful. check-in closes most days at 6.30 so if you are arriving late as we did at 11.30pm it is best to phone them the day before and tell them and they will arrange for someone to be there to check you in.
I would not stay here in the height of summer as there is no air conditioning, I would pay a bit more to stay somewhere else. It was ok the first week of october, nights were warm but not uncomfortable and the days were very hot still.
A taxi to the marina or beach cost around 4 euros and when called always came to the hotel in less than five mins.
My only real complaint is nothing to do with the hotel. A few of the English guests that were staying there were pretty foul to say the least, the drunken noise at night was annoying especially at 4am. i like a drink and a good time but have respect for other people. they clearly did not. basically there were to many chavs there! We did our best to avoid them and would definitely stay here again. Dont be put of by this it was only a minority, overall we were very pleased with the hotel and it was better than we expected.
