I was almost chocked when i arrived at the lobby. I didnt book the hotel as it was done by a business partner. The chock was due to me being brought back to memories from the 80s, cheap mass tourism, pink burnt poms in wrinkled t-shirts wearing flip flops, and socks. With horrible hang overs. My God, i hadnt been in such environments for 20 years but it only took me a day to adjust and rather enjoy this nostalgic trip. The hotel is an enormous monster. I had a room on the top floor viewing the marina and 100s of balconies all with colorful towels hanging on drying. The room was the most simple ive had in a half generation and the bed resembled a prison bed (or what id imagine you'd have in a cell). Hard and with simple sheets and equallt entry level blanket/pillow. Basic stuff, nothing romantic here. This whole thing was an industrial apparatus. Volume. Anyway, the room wasnt that bad after i got over the initial chock that got me phoning my bus partner that booked and demanding another hotel. It was late so i threw in the towel. The next morning i went up early for a morning run. At 6 almost all sunchairs had towels but no guests. Apparently guests went up early, placed a towel to 'book' the sun chairs around the pool, and then back to sleep. Just like a holiday comedy movie. Back at the hotel after my run i had a shower and the only thing i can say about the bathroom is; basic stuff. Ok, but basic. The breakfast however was a bit better. Lots to choose from and decent service. All very fresh foods so nothing to complain about. Its supposed to be a 4 star hotel and i cannot understand the rating system, its surely should not be higher than 3, tops. Anyway, considering what I paid (around E40 bb) i would say it was decent value all round. Would still rather choose something else next time.
