“Really great holiday”

I stayed here last week with my mother and son and we had a lovely time. The place is well equipped and maintained, with a superb pool and garden area which is open between 9am and 8pm so as to avoid noise disturbance. As with other reviews, I agree the local shops, bars and restaurants are all you could want but wiht an authentic feel, well used by locals and not full of tourists. The beach area of Quarteira is an easy walk downhill (more strenuous coming up but there are taxis) and there are local buses close by too.
Only down side was we had noisy upstairs neighbours the last couple of nights (not rowdy - just a family enjoying themselves) and with marble floors...
Otherwise - great!

I went to Honorio in May with a friend. It was hard to find it at first and when we did find it it didn't look so great from the outside. reception was shut with a note on a rusty iron door , our first thought was "AAAAgh". Anibal the manager came out to check us in, he was so nice and he showed us around the complex and to our apartment. He got a cab for us when we were leaving and made phone calls when we wanted to go on a sea trip. Nothing was a problem for him. The apartment was huge compared to everywhere else i've stayed on holidays. Its all done in marble, so its really cool. I can't imagine that you would need much air-conditioning in the hotter summer months. It also has a huge balcony with a barbeque area. It is about a 15min walk to the beach, there's no shop on site but the local supermarket is only a few minsutes walk away and it's very reasonably priced. La Cabana restaurant has beautiful food, its a bit more expensive but worth it. they will also pick you up or drop you off from wherever you are in there own mini bus. Grounds are very well kept, only there was very few sunbeds and no parasols, but hopefuly they will have more for the busier months. Great sleep too, no noise - very unusual for holidays!!!!! Anyway enough rambing, it was well worth the price. I'm going back soon, and I never go back to the same place!!!!!

“Great Undiscovered Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2009

Stayed there with a couple of friends for the week and had a great time, surprisingly quite and busy at the same time. Great value for money.

“What's all the fuss about?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 May 2008

I've just spent two pleasant weeks at Honorio and was surprised to find that the complex bore no resemblance to some of the reviews I'd read.
It's a very pretty place and the apartments are a good size and mainly in good condition. They are extremely clean; the cleaners visit twice a week, when sheets and towels are replaced.
The ship is lost for a ha'peth of tar, here and there; but nothing likely to dampen one's spirits.
There is a very good supermarket, a couple of minutes walk away from the complex, which stocks a lot of British items and most of the staff speak fairly good English.
I read that there was nothing for children to do. Well, if the shreiking, laughing, and general noise, emitting from the pool area, from about 10.00am to 8.00pm, is anything to go by, then there is plenty for them to do. I'd like to know what the reviewers had in mind when they said that there wasn't.
The manager, Paulo, literally bends over backwards to make sure that everything is to your liking. So, I would recommend the complex to anyone who wants a stress free holiday.
