The Hotel where I stayed was in Svolvaer and different to the Best Western Hotel shown in the photo on TripAdvisor. I stayed there for 3 nights this year, for bed and breakfast, in the middle of winter. I found the hotel to be clean, modern, and staffed by friendly and helpful people. There is no-one in the Reception area from 11pm until 7am - so arriving at 10.45pm from the local express boat from Bodo, unwittingly I just made it in time. Otherwise I would have been stuck out in the snow!
The Hotel is in the middle of Svolvaer's residential area and there is a short walk to the centre where the shops, cafes, etc are situated. Whilst I was there a decision was made not to open the Restaurant for evening meals, although no advance notice of this was given, I was unable to go to local restaurants as I had become ill and not fit to go out in the cold evenings. So had to make do with bread and cheese on the first evening, and nothing on the second!!!

We stayed here for one night in August 2008 having arrived on the Hurtigruten when the s/c accommodation was not available until the following day. The room was a good size with an adequate bathroom. It was clean all the linen was in good order. The breakfast was the usual Norwegian standard and items which ran out were soon replaced. When we booked we asked about an evening meal and were told 'no problem', but in the event a bus load of guests meant that they could not offer the evening meal so we had to walk into the town to find a restaurant. The reception girl suggested an excellent restaurant so all was well in the end.

We passed two nights in this hotel in July 2005. The hotel is located in a quite area of the lovely city of Svolvaer. You can go from the hotel to all interesting places of Svolvaer. The room was quite big enough and modern. The only problem was the 24/24 day light. The staff was friendly and the buffet breakfast was one of the best during our big trip of 6 weeks around Norway and Sweden. The is definitely a good Best western.
