The hotel offers a good accomodation for business travelers. Internet is available throughout the hotel and various meeting rooms are available.
The rooms are quiet and offer therefore a good place to rest.
The area as well is very quiet and without a car you are lost. No shopping or other facilities are within walking distance.
However, one doesn't need that as the hotel offers a very fine cuisine and a nice bar.

Be aware that it is difficult to get dinner after 22:30. At that time only Pizza is available.

This is still an upmarket hotel but it has lost much of it's almost legendary charm since it is part of the NH group. While hardly anything can be said against the friendlyness and professialism of the staff, nor the design or the cleaniness of the rooms, the hotel works somewhat unpersonal. This might sound very subjective and I guess it is. If you just need a place to stay (at upmarket prices) you can't go wrong here. The beds are too hard for my liking. Very good but expensive breakfast buffet.

We have stayed in Jan Tabak for one night in two rooms with a connecting door. The rooms looked like the photos on the NH website. The breakfast was free for the kids. In our room in the front of the building you could hear the traffic but the trafficnoise was not too loud.

As an American who lives and works in Europe, I know a thing or two about european hotels.

I have stayed at the Jan Tabak twice and recommend it without hesitation. It is located in a lovely area of exclusive homes I highly encourage a walking tour of. Bussum itself has a number of upscale boutique shops and trendy bars and cafes. The train station is only about a 5-10 minute walk, from which it is a 30 minute trip to Amsterdam.

The rooms at the Jan Tabkar are spacious enough and comfortable. The breakfast bar is the best I have seen in Europe. And the price at about 100 euro per nite is a good value. Plus, free parking.

Simply put, try it, you'll like it.
