“Too expensive in the middle of nowhere”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2010

This hotel is conveniently close to the motorway, in a small industrial estate. The surroundings are almost idyllic. The rooms are tiny, the quality of the room is poor : very small badroom, crappy tv, no minibar. You have to pay extra for parking, although this hotel is really in the middle of nowhere, which I can't understand. No free internet, which I find very annoying (but is standard in NH hotels).
On the plus side, the restaurant is decent, and there's a bar. Staff was quite friendly as well.

“Has to be the worst ever!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2010

As a disabled traveller, I was given an "accessible room" at the NH Naarden. The room was 50 metres from the hotel and its facilities. It was devoide of anything but a bed, a very small TV and a chair. The only lighting in the room was two dim bedside lamps and an atmosphere of gloom hung over it. Naturally we complained, and the promised tea making facilities were delivered and placed on the floor: infact the maid expressed some surprise that we should want such things when there was nowhere to put it. We sampled the food and found it cheap and bland.
On leaving the Hotel we were told that better facilities were available in a locked off area of the room, but the Hotel charged extra for that kind of luxury!!

“Expensive & Uninspiring ...... and WIFI charge is an Insult”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 March 2009

I try to have an openmind, but having had countless poor/below-avarge experiences in Holiday Inn chain, I find i have exactly the same view whenever I find myself in any NH Hotel.

The NH Naarden is in the middle of nowhere if you dont have a car.
No minibar in room, not the worlds largest rooms either
Boring expensive uninspiring restaurant menu.
Room and fittings a little tired and shabby.
They messed up a simple room service order.
They still try and charge for breakfast by default - despite taking the trouble to check you in at the door if you do go into breakfast room. - why do they do this????
Crazy Crazy Crazy 22EURO PER NIGHT rip-off WIFI Pricing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AVOID AVOID AVOID.
The ridiculous 22EURO/night wifi is an insult to think they can charge their customers that. This week I changed to an IBIS hotel in a better location, better meal choices, 20EU cheaper, free breakfast and EU39 for 7 days wifi. Go figure. Avoid NH.

Hey - this sounds excatly like a Holiday Inn hotel - methinks they might be related!!

“Apartments are execellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 April 2008

The NH-Hotel Naarden is located just outside Naarden in the Goorimeer industrial park. There are two buildings, the hotel and across the parking lot are the apartments. I stayed in an apartment for a month and loved every minute. The room is fully furnished with a seperate bedroom (king size bed), bathroom (seperate shower and bath), toilet, kitchenette and living room. The room was cleaned every day I was there. Internet access is provided for a fee but it was reliable and worth the cost. The area was quiet and I had no problems with noisy nieghtbors. The staff were friendly and helpful.

A fifteen to twenty minute walk will get you into north Naarden where resturants and some shopping can be found. The train station is quite a bit further, however a bus stops near the hotel that will take you to the station. Ask at the front desk for details.

  • Liked — The room was very comfortable.
  • Disliked — No complaints

“Don't Go !”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 April 2008

I did the research and the web site looked good. The reviews on tripadvisor were OK, and when I got there the hotel, run by NH Hotels looked promising. But the room (non smoking) stank of cigarettes and was old and cheaply renovated. The walls were paper thin and when the mobile phone of the guy in the room next door rang at 2:30am CET I got to hear word for word his 10 minute conversation as if we were in the same room. Doors opening and closing in the corridor might as well have been in my room too. If you want a good night's sleep then stay elsewhere.

When I checked exhausted the following morning, out the receptionist asked if I had a good stay - I said "No - it was noisy and smelt of smoke and I won't come back" so she said "Yes, a lot of people say that".

She charged my credit card the full room rate and suggested if I did come back to ask for a corner room so I only would have one neighbour. I pointed out there was a better way to secure a good nights sleep and that was to stay elsewhere - she didn't disagree.

Tip to NH Hotels - don't bother to pay lip service to customer care and satisfaction (which is all over the place) if you actually could not care less.

This is the worst 120 euros for a night I have spent in a long time.

AVOID IT !

  • Liked — Getting checked out of this terrible hotel. NH Hotels should know better.
  • Disliked — Paper thin walls that made it like staying in a dorm in a youth hostel.
