Service on the whole was pretty good - perhaps replacement trays of food to bain maries could have had better attention. Drinks seemed rather expensive using tokens purchased. Beds were very comfortable and room clean. Stay was only for three nights but had it been longer and with nightly entertainment music noise levels might have prevented one from getting to sleep if room was on first floor just above band area. Location perfect -near to station for anyone wanting to use trains to reach other desdtinations.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights while visiting the Christmas Markets.The food was good and the roms were very comfortable. The problem is the Bar 1) The staff are expected to multi-task, working the bar and at the same time cover drinks in the Dining Room and clear tables.This causes slow service. 2 ) The main problem is that the bar will only take tokens. These are sold at Reception £18 for 30 tokens( 1token=60p).The Bar has an Happy Hour ,with drinks at half-price. A Beer 6 tokens and a Rum/coke 6.
Cost of each £3.60. Normal rates Beer 11 tokens Rum/Coke 11 (£6.60 a drink). A Rum on its own is 6,and a Coke 4 (£2.4 ). The problem with the Coke/Pepsi come from a :arge 2.5 litre bottle and can be rather flat. Prices seem to change depending on the member of Staff and the look of your face. A well presented Price List would be most welcome.Maybe take your own drinks is worth considering.

This hotel is a real gem. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable, the food was always fresh and if you had any special requests it was never too much trouble to the kitchen, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. If your looking for a bit of a giggle Lucas the bar man is the man to go to! He had a different hat for every song that played in the bar but at the same time was very efficient at his job!
The outdoor seating area is also lovely and by the looks of part of the dinning room i think they may be refurbing the hotel. Not that theres anything wrong with it!
The only little grumble i have is that you have to pay for all your drinks with tokens, which always made me wonder if we where actually paying the right price for our drinks.
Other than that it was perfect and i would return there tomorrow if i could!

Tour of Europe – June/July 2007 – UK, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy & France (spent 2 nights at 15 hotels). Average (mean) cost per night for 2 adults was £72. This was the 1st hotel visited. Cost close to average.

Room was a good size and clean. Décor and furniture was in reasonable condition. Comfortable bed. Bathroom OK. Useful safe facility in room. No air con so had to have windows open to stay cool. In view of this, we opted for a room at the back of the hotel, away from the main road. We overlooked an outdoor courtyard where hotel guests were enjoying drinks. There was some noise, but it quietened down before midnight.

Continental breakfast provided a reasonable choice – self service. Free WiFi in hotel lobby. Free, secure (electronic gate) car parking. Good location – 10 minutes walking distance to town centre. Staff friendly and helpful – pleasant ambience.

Overall, we were happy with our stay in Valkenburg. We would recommend this hotel.
