We came to the hotel for a long weekend break with our two young boys. The location of the hotel (right at the beach) is excellent, but the rooms are scruffy and old fashioned. Cigarette burns on the plastic bathroom tops and kitchenettes tops, as well as old and dirty washing basins. Not what you would expect for €200+ per night.
We arrived on early ferry, so room was not ready. We took bus back to village to get bicycles and have some lunch. Even though I had asked about bicycle rental at the reception, I had to find out at the rental place that they have a voucher system with the hotel. ( lucky I choose that rental place!)
All in all, we still have 2 more days to go, let's see if it improves.

Stayed at the hotel over new years day. It's the perfect location for long walks along the seashore. The hotel is located on top of the dunes and is the only hotel overlooking the sea. The rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel has its own baggage trolleys at the ferry (the only hotel on the island which does) and takes the baggage straight to the hotel. Cars are not allowed on the island so you have to leave your car at Harlingen at the ferry terminal. There is also a pick-up bus on arrival at the ferry, in case the local bus does not run.
Service is OK and the staff speaks English. The hotel has three restaurants. Food was nice, though nothing special. The hotel has a bowling court, where we had great fun in the evenings.

My family had a blast on Vlieland, and I think I chose the right hotel. They picked up your bags at the ferry and took them to the hotel. The hotel was right on the beach, perfect location for us. The hotel was clean and well kept, but there were no refridgerators or ice makers, something we Americans are used to, so I had to go to the restaurant to get ice. There were also no air conditioners, but it wasn't too hot in the room. The front desk staff did a good job, and the food in the restaurant was very good, they were professional and courteous. This is a very nice beach hotel on the island, I recommend staying there while on the island. The beach was very nice, but be aware that they do go topless, another thing most Americans are not use to.
