we got the free shuttle bus to pick us up from amsterdam which was good.
stayed 1 night. was a bit shocked that the 20 bed dorm was in the basement with only 1 window at the end. there were 2 showers but only 1 worked properly.
wasnt impressed with the bar it was pretty expensive, 2.20 for a tiny glass of wine and 4.50 for a vodka and orange. atmosphere was kinda boring with stoners staring into space all over.
there was people sleeping in the dorm at half 8(!) which was so annoying because we wanted to drink. and when we went to bed at about 1am the music was pounding through the ceiling from the bar above. the town is boring on the whole though there is a really nice italian restaurant along the front, mmmmm

This hostel is by far the worst place I have ever stayed. We checked in and checked out the next morning straight away. The noise in the hostel means you get zero sleep. The main dorm is below the bar and the floor is made of paper by the way sound comes through. The other problem is that there is only one small window in the corner of the room so there is no air in there and the smell is just so off putting. Just outside the dorm door are the loos and I can only speak of the Male loo, but in there the smell of urine was worse than a public toilet in a subway. I am sure they had not been cleaned or if they had then it was done by someone in about 15 seconds. These are also the loos for the bar so there is a constant trail of people coming up and down all night.

Supposedly the bar is meant to close at 2am but there was still loud music and people bouncing around until at least 4am.

Breakfast that is included - this does not start till 9am and if you want to get a cup of tea or a drink before that you have walk around the town to find something open which is not great. It is nothing special so do not put much money you are spending on the bed towards this as you will have to buy something else.

I am not going to go on anymore but it is very easy to say, if you have choice then stay somewhere else as this is not a nice place and the people in the bar are not hotel guests so the atmosphere in the place is not very friendly.

Very bad hostel!

This hostel is fine for those having a wild weekend or wanting to meet new people whilst getting drunk/stoned. It's not the cleanest place ever and the free breakfast isn't great. Avoid the larger dorms if you want any sleep and would rather not see people having sex in their bunks.. The staff are really friendly and the bar is lively and the smoking lounge is fairly comfortable though the smoke does go into the rest of the dining room & bar (in case that's a problem for you). There are several daily free shuttle buses to the airport/amsterdam city centre which is a draw for the place, but the staff drivers are pretty stoned most of the time so I wouldn't recommend that... The beach at Noordwijk is beautiful and well worth a day in the sea or on the dunes, but the town is a pretty uniform grey place so I wouldn't recommend spending any time there. Better to stay in Amsterdam the whole time, or camp at Noordwijk if you want to be by the coast.

I visited the hostel on end of the May, 2010. Smell in room was very very unendurable, there are 4 rest rooms are shared by people but all are very dirty, bad smell around you. Bathroom also very dirty and I can not take a bath at the time.

The bar in the first floor makes noise until 3 am.

I can imagine the room, bathroom and toilet was not cleaned during a week and in Europe has a terrible hostel like the Flying Pig Beach Hostel in Noordwijk.

Price is cheap but do not spend your money even though 1 euro for a very dirty bed and you can not sleep during almost of night.

I get up at 4 am and took a bus to go to Leiden. I do not want to see the hostel anymore.
