The Golden Tulip is a nice hotel that is close to Keukenhof gardens (10 minute drive) & the North Sea (1 mile). This place was in a great location to do both. We arrived at the hotel & were greeted by a very friendly woman. She quickly checked us in & explained to us how to find our room. We were asked if we wanted to eat dinner in the dining room, but we decided not to for two reasons...the restaurant is a bit pricey & we wanted to eat by the water. If you are driving out of the hotel parking lot just turn right & it will take you right to the beach, restaurants, & hotels. We thought we had gone to heaven. Since living in Europe we have missed the beach & this was just perfect. We ended up eating at Restaurant De Botter which is a very nice seafood restaurant. The staff was very friendly & was very happy to wait on us. I recommend this restaurant for a nice seafood meal. Ok...back to the hotel. We were a bit concerned when we were walking up to our room because the hotel is a bit out dated. The inside of the rooms weren't too bad though. The bedding is very nice & there is a lot of room to hang up your clothing. There are two closets in the room & we only had a double standard room. They also have a safe, internet (you have to pay for it), & free hotel parking (the hotels by the water charge 20-25 Euro a day) The bathroom seemed a bit outdated, but the water stayed hot & had great pressure. They provide you with the soaps & such that you would expect with a pretty descent hair dryer. They served a good breakfast in the morning with eggs, bacon, sausage, meat, cheese, huge bread selection, pastries, juices, coffee, & tea. The breakfast room is very nice & where we sat you could see the hotels garden. All in all, this is a nice hotel for the money & I would recommend it.
