I stayed at this hotel in February 2012 on business. The first impressions are that it is a very ornate, and clean hotel. There was no sign of the dust or dirt that other reviewers have noted.
The rooms are a decent size. There is a reasonable selection of food at various prices. In all, on the face of it, this hotel is pretty good.
Sometimes though, it can all seem too good to be true. We were sat in the bar area having a beer, and we noticed that there were mice running around the floor and under the skirting. We must have seen around 6 in all. I informed the barman, and he didn't seem concerned at all, even suggesting that it was too cold to throw them out. We saw one in the restaurant too.
Another slight niggle - the pillows on the bed are too big to be comfortable. I slept badly until 1:30am when I eventually got up and found some proper pillows in the wardrobe. Only two though, yet there were 4 of the huge great things that prop you up like you are in a hospital bed.
Finally, the room was too hot, so I turned on the air condition and it was blowing directly onto my face.- uncomfortable, but the huge pillows came in handy piled up to form a barrier against the icy cold draught.
So, if you don't mind the mice, check in the wardrobe for pillows before going to bed, and make sure the room is the correct temperature for you several hours before retiring, then this is a nice place to stay.
There are 3 buses in the morning that go to ESA for a price of 5 Euro's per person. The buses do call at other hotels too, so this is not a unique service.
