“Wow, we'll be back.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2010

1. Location : On the beach. Super location! 1 minute from the bus stop (rain or shine, its a great location!)
2. Rooms: We did a last minute booking, and managed to get a room in the tower for 99 Euros including breakfast no sea view and super small. But it did the trick. En suite bathroom with a shower. Not really a place you want to spend too much time in. But the other rooms should be awesome - it is a 4 star hotel. [and the rest of the hotel amenities made up for the small size room.]
3. Amenities: Sauna, Warm pool, Steam room and a Solarium (Sun bed)
4. Breakfast: Good selection: Fruit and yogurt, tea, cofee, hot chocoloate, breads and cheeses, and if you eat meat nice warm breakfast: sausages, baked beans, bacon etc.
5. Service: Great. friendly and helpful. Even have free city maps at the front desk with advice on where to go and how. We had an evening picnic on the beach, and the restuarant lent us teaspoons for our yogurt. :-)
6. Restaurant: Sea facing, with an outdoor terrace for sunny days, and glass walls for overcast or windy days.

Thanks to the hotel location, service and amenities, Noordwijk is now one of my favourite towns in the world. : -) We'll be back to Noordwijk and Golden Tulip. :-)

“Friendly, pleasant hotel; ideal location for beach and bulb fields”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2010

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Golden Tulip. The location is perfect for Keukenhof Gardens and the bulb fields, and it overlooks the dunes and seafront. All the reception staff were excellent, helpful and informative. The hotel was clean and well maintained; the bar area relaxed and comfortable and the walls and corridors decorated with lovely beach and seascape artwork. Our room had the sea view we paid for, but was on the small side and the bathroom, although clean and functional, was outdated. I slept well but my wife thought the single beds narrow and uncomfortable. The room entrance door and lock was also flimsy and insecure.
Parking was available through (but not at) the hotel for, I think, 15 Euros per day. We were able to park on the road outside in the evenings for 2 Euros per hour (free between 21.00 and 10.00)
Dinner in the restaurant was excellent, if a little expensive (but isn't that the case with most of Europe now?) and breakfasts were adequate. We were also very pleased with the standard of the adjoining Italian restaurants (Mimmo and La Toscana), which meant you could eat extremely well after walking and cycling all day through the gardens and bulb fields without having to search far and wide for somewhere decent to eat.
All in all, our trip to Holland was lovely and the hotel contributed significantly to that experience. We would stay there again (but preferably in a more comfortable, double bed).

“Terrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2009

person found this review helpful

I spent one night in the hotel and it was terrible. The rooms are old and in the bathroom was mould.
But the highlight was that I had to change the room at 2 am because a mouse showed up in my room and disappeared under the bed.
The only comment from the staff at the reception was: "Oh really?"

“Good location, charming old hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2009

I spent just one night here on a business trip. We arrived late and found a quick dinner in town at a take out restaurant. Most others were already closed. Had a couple of beers in the bar. The bar was comfortable and old fashioned. The rooms were a bit small and spartan, but were fine.

The location was very good, right on the main boardwalk across from the beach. It was a short walk to restaurants and shops.

Breakfast was good; a small buffet with some hot items. The breakfast room overlooked the boardwalk.

“Ols and worn hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2009

I stayed in this hotel for 2 days and it took me right back to the 1970s. The frontdesk is nice but the rooms are terrible. No airconditioning in the room, old windows which wouldn't open. The bathroom was worn and not clean at all.
